Actually Microsoft does not rely on Windows like you think. The actual OS sales (enterprise subscriptions) does not add a lot to their bottom line like they used to (still in the billions but not the driving force). And sure Office is a good income. But, the Azure Cloud and related cloud technologies is where they are making money more than ever. They are neck and neck with Amazon with rest of the other large cloud storage, PASS,SASS, etc providers fairly far behind. In fact Microsoft i...
@corroios
That is not true. The Pro does have more RAM. In fact it has added an additional 1GB of DDR3 (not GDDR5). It uses a different APU based on Polaris with even more tech taken from Vega and beyond (not my words those are Sony's and Mark Cerny's) The Polaris is not the same graphics generation as the original specialized PS4 GPU. So the Pro is not just using a faster GPU based on the PS4 original's GPU.
By implying the Scorpio does and Xbox One does not logic than using that argument you are saying a PS4 Pro is a new gen because the PS4 doesn't do 4K and the Pro does.
I also missed this list of VR titles for the Scorpio could you name one for me? When can I pre-order one?
They did not do a "real" breakdown of the hardware. They did a breakdown of what they thought the hardware might be. There are no spec sheets floating around. There is a white sheet talking about rendering techniques that was available on the Microsoft development site which this all based on. All we know from anybody for sure is Microsoft targeting 6TFLOPS, 320Gb/s memory bandwidth (from E3 2016) and now possibly no Esram. That is it. And the Esram is only a maybe because of&...
You do know the difference between revenue and profit right?
Both announced their Q3 financials today:
Nintendo's profit Q3 2016 profit $569 million
Sony's gaming division SIE (includes PSN) Q3 2016 profit $431 million
I don't know where you getting overall numbers for Steam. As a privately held company they don't release numbers. But, I will take your word for...
I have got a question for you. When you were young if you brought home a report card and on it showed you got an A+ in English but, a C in history, F in algebra, F in biology, a D in PE would your parent(s) go awesome you got an A+ in English and ignore you are failing almost everything else? I don't think so. Nice that Sony is getting a A+ for the PS4 (SIE) grade. But almost every other division, like that report card, Sony is failing a...
That was a project for 55 million sold not shipped. We see it is down for the year, below projections and put it around 54.3million (57 million is shipped with in neighborhood of 3million still on the shelves) The console itself brought in less revenue (sold a lot but because price undercutting it made less profit on per unit basis). But overall revenue dip on the console itself was more than made up by the increase in revenue of networking component. Networking ...
I am going to get a ton of down votes but this was not a rosy company financial report. Let's first look at SIE. Not bad, shipped more made less from the box itself. But, it was as I expected a few weeks ago when looking a similar revenue from Xbox increased consoles sales I assumed that Sony would have a similar look. Competitive price cutting cut into their profits. Not so terrible like I said it was expected and ev...
@1Victor There is a saying: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." That applies perfectly to Scorpio. Microsoft is leading consoles developers to 4K but, nothing is forcing them to do 4K. The only thing Microsoft has promised is they would have all their games take advantage of the power of Scorpio's 4K capabilities. What those other horses do it is up to them.
It isn't going anywhere. They just aren't using it as a the biggest selling point any longer. That title is going to Ultra HD, SUHD, HDR, etc... Instead of big bold letters "3D" on the package it is now becoming a bullet point on the list of capabilities: "3D enabled" with an asterisk (glasses sold separately).
Because this list of nations is taken directly by Obama's administration own terror list. Three of the seven are actually assigned to the State Departments Countries that directly support terror list (Syria, Iran, Sudan)
In 8 years in Obama office he never put Saudi Arabia on the official list I wonder why? Does he have business there? Or was it because Hillary's little side project The Clinton Foundation that has received well ...
@Bathyj But hey, dont attack me, Im only asking the question based on the article
Do you know what a question is?
You didn't ask a single question in your response. At least not one that you were not being hypophera - in other words immediately answering your own question. You just listed arguments to defend your point of view. Which is fine but, don't pretend you are being impartial.
@ BizarroUltraman6 he "signed an executive order to look into some bs voter fraud."
No he did not sign an executive order to do anything of the sort. Please get your info correct. Go ahead give us link where it shows he signed an executive order to do this. Stop listening to all those Alt-Left alt fact base networks. Your embarrassing yourself.
Example of cheap right now:
Walmart have the 60" Samsung UN60KU6270 4K UHD HDR Smart LED HDTV on sale for $597.99 (46% off). Best Buy has it for $599.99. Both with free shipping.
Who? Have you been to Costco lately? Almost every TV there is now 4K. BestBuy hides the 1080s in the back aisles (the land of forgotten toys.) Sure, they still sell 1080p TVs but, the price differential between the two is not very big any longer. I suspect by the end of this year most places will only have 1080 devices that are 40” and below on their shelves. Everything else will be 4K. And almost anybody buying a TV will have no reason not to choose a 4K over a 1080p going forward.
Wrong! I have already gone over this. Large corporations that have large sales negotiate processing fees. I have several clients that do 30+ million in sales a year and their processing fees are pennies. I guess Sony doesn't do that much business he said sarcastically. In fact my clients charges for accepting PayPal are higher than negotiated terms for Visa. Secondly, these stored amounts are recorded value as a charge and Sony is maki...
I almost wanted to agree with you but, technically you are not correct. SIE represents over 80% of their profits but, even thought it is the predominant source positive revenue it is not the only source. Insurance and investment division and music contributes most of the rest (around 17%). And entertainment contribute most of what is left after that. The only problem with the entertainment (m ovies/TV) is that ROI in that area has been small. They inves...
