You make some reasonable points. However, Sony did not release the PS4 a year early. Nor, did they release the PS3 a year early (actually a year later than the X360). If you are referring to the Pro, then yes Sony may want to continue that path of being out front. But, I doubt they are looking at it that way.
Other than that, you correctly are breaking down some business aspects that Sony is dealing with now. These data points are not unusual and are repetitive from the...
Pure BS response. He said nothing in his statement. "the right messaging"? "right customer support?" No differenet than that ridiculous answer that he once took with not allowing Minecraft cross-play: "it is for the children" (somehow their concern was about the safety of a the security of XboxLive - laughable when comparing the two services histories). The very fact Sony has cross-play with PC (the least safe all around and riddled with possible customers issu...
One can argue those that "rant" as you call are the ones that get things changed. Everyone else is just complacent and smiles as Sony and Microsoft do it up those complacent user lower orifices. One group expects things that benefits gaming as a gamer, not as an autotamon for any of these companies as they voice no opinion. The complacent users just shrug and say "Well Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo says/does X or Y so I must bow down to them and agree ". Or is that because yo...
Except as pointed out by several people Shawn Layden himself when asked about PSN name changes said wait for PSX. Asked last year he said "you won't have to ask that question at the next PSX" So, to me, that implied there was a PSX planned and PSN name change would be announced by then or at PSX. Or are you saying Layden meant we shouldn't expect PSN name changes at all and this cancellation is just to avoid having to deal with PSN name ID changes? /s
@shaggy2303 You are wrong of both the PS3 and PS4 being announced a year ahead of time. The PS4 was announced 9 months before, February 20, 2013 and released in the same year November 15, 2013. Not one year ahead of time. The PS3 was officially announced in April 2006 and released November 2006. Once again not a year ahead of time but, only 7 months. If Sony was to announce a PS5 for next year they have plenty of time to left to do it. I don't personally believe the PS5 is coming next yea...
The Switch is a 9th gen. 8th gen was the WiiU. Somehow people like to forget the WiiU, which was released 2012, ever existed but , it did and it was the Nintendo 8th gen competing against the PS4 and Xbox One.
Xbox One owners can create their own classic Xbox by using the BC option of the Xbox One. And that collection is not limited to a selction that Sony is making for the PS retro device. Rather X1 owners can choose from a growing list of original Xbox games and not locked into Sony's minimal list of 20 games on the PS Classic or Nintendo's somewhat larger list of 40 that locks down their retro console gaming experience.
Sorry, not even close. It may look nice but if I put an actual picture of any of those cars next to the game renders I can guarantee, with 100% certainty, no one would say they look even remotely the same. And that isn't even taking into consideration how the game reacts as the objects move around the screen (e.g. ray tracing not artificial light points)
Still not exactly close. Unless Sony permanently drops the PSNow price to $10 from $20/month you still will end up paying double GamePass for something most people on the system will never use, streaming, all just to get PS3 BC.
PlayAnywhere. Sure you could stream PSNow games on a PC if you like 720p, 30fps, artifacts, and a strange does/does not have lag issues that vary from person to person. But, PlayAnywhere games will give the ability to play the actual game locally...
What do work for the NY Times (famous now for fake headlines) and take the blatantly incorrect headline and ignore that actual item Bethseda was talking about. All it took was to look down one line to see what they were referring to but, no you had to be lazy or sensationalist to prove a false point. The subtitle said "Bethesda may skip the PS4 for Elder Scrolls: Legends, because Sony won't play nice". Nowhere did the say would ditch PS4 altoget...
Has TT filed for Chapter 11 or Chapter 13? I do know that the WARN Act has exceptions for those filing Chapter 11. Normally there must be a notification of 60 days for mass layoffs for companies with more than 100 employees but, if the employer is no longer acting as the business but rather winding down or in the case of TT completing basic necessary contractual requirements before ceasing as a business the employees may have little recourse that they would under the WARN Act. Normally emplo...
But, Bungie didn't try something new. Destiny is just a continuation of what they were doing originally. Destiny is just Halo's brother from another mother.
Phil Spencer did say several montns ago that he envisoned expanding Game Pass with episodic content (new chapter every month or so). So, I guess TT would be a cheap buy for MS to get that type of gaming from an already established developer. But, because their current engine (Telltale Tool) is quite old, it needs to be replaced and should bea top priority. If anybody buys them I defiintely hope they are able to actually make sure that new gaming engine TT has been working on, based around U...
The demo is the full game engine. They fixed things that some had issues with the game. Let's not forget the full game has not been released yet (Oct. 2nd). And it is better to have any late issues plugged now then after it is released, don't you think?
@SickSinceSix1 Technically speaking you could stream the Xbox BC version to your PC and avoid paying for PSNow altogether. And unlike PSNow that streams at 720 max the Xbox to a PC is streamed at 1080. You probably could even stream the 4K enhanced X version of RDR (although still at 1080 on the PC end) you will end up getting a better-looking result than the original version that streams from PSNow or base Xbox One consoles.
@Ceaser9857361 If there is no PC version (or at least nothing on the horizon) then yes the X will have the best version.
@Ninja_Ryu
It's coming? OK, wait three years. The rest of us will play it our consoles while you sit waiting, counting the days. I am sure those 1095 days will go by quickly. :)
