You keep propping up made up revenue (not based ion actual facts realated to Sony) . Even Sony's own admittance of 700k subscribes this past May (a year after the study) dosnt' live up to the revenue numbers. Sony has never released revenue numbers for PSNow (again admitted to by the author of study). And before this past May when they specifically stated PSNow had only 700k subscribers they had never announced numbers prior. At the time of that announcement Sony also mentioned th...
Yes of course. /s Just like the console is the poor mans PC as told to by us by the PC Master Race. Cloud gaming is choice of playing. Just like console is over a PC or PC is over console. Streaming to a device is a choice of game play. And I would expect most users investing in streaming, at least initially, will definitely not be casuals at all. It will be made up of those that like to game and try new things. Case in point I don't know many casual gamers buying into Stadia at the mo...

No it isn't. Put this into perspective. There are 100+ million PS5 console owners. Out of that their is only one first party exclusive, UC4, has reached sell rate over 15% of the PS4 user base.I can almost guarantee that if Sony offered day one on the console that 50% of the user base would buy into it for $10/month to play GOW at time of is release. That is $500 million. And I can guarantee a good percentage of people (as shown by GP growth) would still conti...
First, PSNow is by its very definition an always online (GAAS) from Sony. It only added downloading PS4 games because of the competition with Microsoft's Game Pass. You can also thank Game Pass for the big price drop and the "marquee selection". PSNow has been the original true GAAS (always on, no ownership) on consoles not Game Pass,
Secondly, unfortunately for you, online and streaming services like PSNow that is ...
I called it. Said he would end up at either Activision/Blizzard or EA. Nothing else made since if he was going to stay within the gaming industry. Where do I pickup my gold star or do we only get participation trophies now?
And somehow PSNow isn't' even more subsidized at this time. If you think GP is burning money is an issue long term it is not. It is a necessary investment. It is how growth is accomplished. Or do you think Disney+ or Apple TV+ giving you 12 months free or long trials is jut because they love you all. Game Pass is no different. GP has population that is well into the millions of monthly subscribers. And as noted by people here who say they have years locked into the service it is not...
Courage to screw over all the WiiU buyers a little over four years after they bought the machine? Sounds like they have the courage to say FU. You just said Microsoft didn't have the courage to support the Kinect but, gave props to Nintendo for throwing WIIU owners under the bus and moving on. And if we buy your definition of "courage" shouldn't that also should apply to Microsoft for having the courage to stay at lea...
Good luck there. If you are going to rely on Starbucks wireless you are in for a rude awakening. 90% of Starbucks run on AT&T and have an average download speed of around 5Mbps . If you are lucky to find a Starbucks using Google WiFi you will get at on average 24.9Mbps download speed. The first one (a Starbucks using AT&T) you won't get any Stadia game streaming at all (no chance). The second wont give you anything near 4K as that requires (so they say) at least 30Mbps. And at ...

Well, funded by Take Two Interactive from their new publishing arm Private Division. 2K is not the same as Take Two. 2K is just another publishing arm of Take Two Interactive (like Rockstar) and that is 2Ks only relation to all this. Private Division Publishing is designed to support smaller & mid-size developers. It provides development support, and costs along with running the publishing end but, unlike most other publishers with this much involvement Private D...
Xcloud beta with 17+ phone models and 7+ manufacturers. That is only the beginning as more will be added as time goes by. Stadia only current has plans to support Google's own Pixel 2,3 & 4 models.
Xcloud is in beta and is working well for mobile. Project Stream arrives in a month and no one can say if mobile will work because they never tested it in public at all! So, essence everybody will be paying Google to join its mobile testing.
A $100 loss means to make up for that loss they would need sell 6 or 7 games for each console that is sold at that loss. Which on average is about 2 years of games for most users. Or have them buy a year of PS+ and 5 games before that box is even considered a contributor to SIE profits. And lets not ignore that only about 40% buy into PS+. And early adopters like myself often have stacked their subscription (e.g.mine isn't up for renewal until April 2022), And just about that time whe...
"Imagine PS+ offerings having free games from P5, PS4, PS3, PS2 and PS."
The fact they took PS3 away from PS+ monthly games already and doing so without replacing it with anything (e.g. PSVR game) says to me they aren't bringing it back PS+. And taking it out of PS+ is another sign they have moved on from ever supporting PS3 BC other than through a streaming service.
PS4 BC is difficult job on its own. So splitting up the work among to try...
@rgneoz3
You mean the 10mbps it supposedly requires not 100Mbps. Which is well below the average in the US. I give you there are places that do cap but those same issues apply to Netflix as well. It takes less bandwidth to playing 720p and similar about data then requires to stream a video to my end from Netflix at the same resolution. I guess all those people watching Netflix should just stop as well because they obviously are going over their data caps with all that binging.
Cure don't do all that other streaming. That is crap load of other streaming you do elsewhere. This service take no more data then streaming video. Don't blame this service on the excess by your own admittance you do elsewhere. Life is made of choices. If you choose streaming TVs shows and movies or porn or whatever that is not the fault of this service. It is a choice you made with your finite resources. No different then saying I can't buy all the games I want because I spend ...
Benchmark? I think not. It looks like utter crap. The game deserves a participation score of 5 out 10. But, in no way with the noted issues does it deserve 8. It is one thing to give it an 8 knowing these issues can be fixed (just the occasional minor annoyance that the next patch will easily fix.) However, most of these problems are not issues that can solved with a few little fixes. It just on hardware that is not designed to handle it no matter how many corners the cut to get to run on t...
It is going an especially long wait. That PS5 Pro is going to be called a PS6 and released in 2026 or later. Point is there is not going to be a PS5 Pro or Xbox X2. There is no need. There will not be a major shift, changing of the resolution mainstream, happening in the middle of this next gen. Doing any new console mid-stream with greater power would only segregate the user base within the same resolution capability. There would have been no Pro or X if the resolution they were focusing...
Then taking your points of what defines a 8K console then the same point is valid for the current Xbox One X. It supports 8K output via its HDMI 2.1 implementation. And if you think it is that simple, just create a game, any old indie game. Maybe Microsoft should come out and say it is the worlds first 8K console tomorrow and bring out a Tetris 8k. I am sure it get push back and laughed out of the room from every side of the isle. But it just as true as calling these next gen consoles 8K ca...
Simple. Sony did a new spec announcement last week. When you make news then stories follow to feed off the pluses and minuses of what just happened. 4KUHD was in that announcement. Hence stories like this. There have
more than a fair share of plus articles about what Sony announced about the PS5 last week too. Nature of the beast.
