I got my wings (level 100 for those that don't know) on the weekend. Best way to level up is to play wingman - I was averaging about 70-80k experience per match, meaning it was only about 4-5 matches per level up from 90 to 100.
To get to level 100 you need to get to 6.8 million xp, for those that aren't there yet and are wondering.
people whinge about anything microsoft does. this is just another case of that. get over it.
it doesnt matter WHEN the figures are for, i was merely pointing out that the LATEST SALES FIGURES that we have for both companies are:
PS3: 41.6 million
360: 45 million
doesnt matter if thats one extra month for Microsoft - all im doing is comparing the LATEST sales figures. if Sony want to give their updated to end of october figures then they can, and we'll compare them - but so far they havent. microsoft have.
so the latest OF...
its funny when people say 'ive already got my moneys worth' about PS+, because theyre forgetting one small thing.
as soon as they STOP paying for PS+, they lose all that stuff that they 'got their moneys worth' from. youre paying a yearly fee for a discount-coupon-book and some rentals for as long as you subscribe. after you stop subscribing, you cant use those rentals anymore.
now for someone like me whos only bought 4-5 things off the PS Sto...
@divideby0: "btw.. I never updated PSN or Live the first day...late the dust settle, since their usually is dust"
its different with Live than it is with PSN though - all the big dashboard updates on Live go through the Beta testing. i myself have had about 5-6 updates to the new Dash through the beta over the last 2-3 weeks. by the time it gets to the public theres generally not a bug in sight.
the XMB update just gets released without any mass tes...
the XMB just 'copied' every other menu structure in existence though - left to right menu items, top to bottom sub-items. this is the way websites and programs have done it since computers first got invented.
people act like the XMB revolutionised menus lol.
some of you guys are complete idiots. the actual timeline of released 'sales' figures goes like this:
1. Microsoft announce in their financial figures that they have "sold" 44.6 million consoles to date.
2. Sony announce in their financial figures that they have "sold" 41.6 million consoles to date.
3. Major Nelson posts on his blog that they have "sold" over 42 million consoles IN 35 COUNTRIES.
4. Aaron Greenberg ...
@NecrumSlavery: actually microsoft offer family Live Gold deals where you get 2 adult + 2 children memberships for LESS than the price of 2 regular gold memberships.
its a great deal.
the biggest thing this update brings for me (and the rest of us Aussies) is Foxtel for Xbox Live. for $19.50 a month we can get our pay tv directly through the 360! having just upgraded to an unlimited download (with no shaping either!) super-fast internet plan that gets ~6Mbps downloads, its a great and cheap way for me to get Foxtel.
for those without unlimited downloads though, its supposed to chew through about 800MB an hour of live tv.
ive had the new up...
theyre talking about doing this from your PC, not your console. you can now dress up your avatar from live.xbox.com, previewing items like you do on the xbox.
did you really just say that after reading my post? lol
i just gave you 2 examples of the actual game data - graphics, texture, gamefiles (as you so plainly call them) - being incredibly tiny in some of the biggest games. Fallout 3 New Vegas can be called a lot of things, but "Small" isnt one of them. the entire game is less than 5gb on the 360! the game data is only 2gb!! final fantasy on the PS3 only has 6gb of data thats not FMV! 6 out of 39!! thats including the...
wait wait wait wait wait..........
not even 2 weeks ago all the sony fanboys were saying 'SHIPPED = SOLD' because thats how they defended Moves 'sales', which were given as 'shipped' numbers. but now all of a sudden theyre back to 'SHIPPED DOES NOT EQUAL SOLD' because if it does then it means microsoft is even further ahead?
epic lolz.
id just like to throw something out there - here in Australia, Sony are givi...
it looks cool and all, but its not really impressive.
Limbo in itself isnt a technical masterpiece, nor is it something that anyone has ever said could only be done on the 360. its a 2D platformer with a physics engine.........exactly the same as Little Big Planet! is it any surprise that you can use little big planet to make another simple 2D platformer? no, not at all.
what sets limbo apart is the atmosphere and story/lack of story, making you wonder what...
lol
the only reason that Final Fantasy is on multiple disks is because of the FMV. that has NOTHING to do with texture work or anything, its just the fact that its full motion video. FMV, even in standard definition, takes up MUCH more space than video game data.
take the recent fallout new vegas for example - the texture and level data (mesh) is only 2gb on the 360 version. 2gb. and thats for a game as big as new vegas.
or you could go direc...
How can you blame the reduced quality of textures on 'lack of storage space' when there is 4gb of free space left on the disc? Lol it makes absolutely no sense.
Piratethom, ps3 fanboys seem to think that the length of a game is proportionate to the size on disc. They say 'game x couldve been longer if it was on a blu-ray'.
"MS just spent 500M $ for Kinect's marketing, don't expect a new Xbox until 2015."
youre forgetting one thing - Kinect isnt the xbox 360. Kinect is a peripheral. Microsoft can, and most likely will if it takes off, use Kinect with the next Xbox. i actually think thats why they removed the processor from Kinect, it makes sense when you think about it.
if you put a processor in it, it gets outdated pretty quickly in the technology world. by le...
my favourite part of this article is where it points out that the actual GAME data - ie. levels and graphics (mesh and textures) - are only ~2gb. how many hours of gameplay does this game have? hopefully this will shut up all of the 'games on PS3 can be longer because of blu-ray'. like ive always said, the length of a game is not determined by the storage format. and again, like this shows, most of the space on a disc is used up by audio - the audio alone in the PS3 version is bigger ...
like ive said many times, the japanese are fiercely loyal when it comes to technology products. if theres a choice of american and japanese, they buy japanese. its just how their culture is. i mean, until recently Capcom wouldnt even let any of their devs that werent Japan based use their 'best' video game engine. that says a lot for how they work.
the thing is, Microsoft doesnt need to sell xboxs in japan. japan makes up for a very small amount of console sales in th...
they have given the graphics engine a complete overhaul actually.
they even added per-object motion blur! it looks MUCH better, thats the first thing that actually struck me when i played it for the first time.
personally i LOVE everything they changed about it. the new per-player menus are incredibly brilliant, the way it handles pauses in-game is brilliant, and im just itching to get my pro guitar.
why are people saying they lost the 'weighty' feel in the controls? the 'weight' is still there, all they did was remove the input lag. this is a GOOD thing. 'weighty feel' does not equal input lag. games like Battlefield Bad Company and even Killzone 1 on the PS2 have the weighty controls without any input lag, and its much better than Killzone 2s unresponsive controls.
personally i like all the changes theyve made with Killzone 3, apart from all the ...
