apart from the odd game here and there, Microsoft announce their exclusives (first party and MGS published) about 6-12 months before their CONCRETE release date. Sony announce a game before it even hits the planning stages, meaning they take upwards of 2-3 years from the announcement. they often dont even have a name, just 'project something or other'.
Gears of War 2: announced at E3 2008 (June 2008), released less than 6 months later (November 2008).
Forza 3:...
here are some other quotes from the article to counter GamingGamers obvious bias against Kinect in trying to make the review seem like Kinect is bad:
"Kinect isn't just hype. It is technology that goes beyond the microphones and cameras we've seen attached to game console before. It is sci-fi technology that Microsoft will be spending a lot of money to support for a while. Kinect isn't going away, so you might as well try it at some point. You might just love...
hows that a contradiction? do you even know what that word means?
not having to use a physical controller/remote is more convenient than having to use one, and taking a few seconds more is outweighed by not using a controller.
there is absolutely no contradiction there.
ill buy it. to be honest i was expecting a lot more than US$279. i was prepared to go upwards of $400 for it to be honest.
since they expect to sell that many, it means theyll be shipping even more.
so since Shipped = Sold for Move (thanks for clarifying that Sony fanboys, here i was thinking you didnt count shipped as sold, but you told me otherwise), Shipped = Sold for Kinect as well.
so Microsoft will be SELLING - cause shipped = sold - at least 5 million Kinects over the holiday season. thats absolutely fantastic SALES, isnt it sony fanboys?
i honestly cant believe that lots of sony fanboys think that Spyro was the first game in HISTORY to feature challenges to complete hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ha.
maybe if the first games youd ever played were on the PS1/PS2, but if youd ever played video games before then youd know just how idiotic youre making yourself look.
i agree with the list, and would also add a more streamlined in-game XMB to the list. i dont want to have to bring up a big slow fu...
oh wow, an article from ps3center.net praising something PS3 related? who wouldve guessed.....
excuse me while i post an article from xbox.com saying that the xbox is the best....
some people have no idea, really.
the EyeToy was conceived in 1999, released in 2003. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... )
Kinect, formerly 3DVs 'ZCam' (microsoft bought the company 3DV in 2009), was RELEASED in 2000. this was then refined and made into what Kinect is today. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
lol
"Rock Band is never going to be as good as GH 1-Metallica."
every guitar hero since GH2 has been a piece of $hit, ESPECIALLY when compared to rock band. why? because RB is made by the people who made GH1 and GH2. GH then got pawned off by the developer to anyone and everyone who would churn out a game every 3-4 months. everything about RB1/2/3 is better than anything in GH3+.
i just ordered the 106 (or however many it is) butto...
if *that* is 'hard' and 'too time consuming' to set up, you guys are gonna find real life tough when you move out of your parents houses. seriously.
you put the camera down, you get it so it can see your whole body, then you simply follow some on screen poses and its done. you could do it all in 30 seconds. its been dumbed down to a level where even a 2 year old who cant read could figure out what they have to do. if you guys find it difficult, theres somethin...
PS3 fanboys killed Haze.
it was an average game, but it was hyped to all hell by the fanboys purely because it was a PS3 exclusive. if people hadve just taken it for what it was, they wouldve had an alright time, if not blowing their socks off. but like the original killzone, the fanboys kept telling everyone, including themselves, how its going to be the greatest game ever since its exclusive to playstation. then when it released with problems and is just kinda half-hearted ...
are you seriously asking that question?
Slightly Mad Studios dont have an exclusive deal for NFS - theyre not even making the new need for speed games. Criterion are making Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.
Burnout is a franchise owned by a publisher, and they just contract it out to developers to make games in the series. Project Gotham Racing is in the same boat - Microsoft own the IP, and are free to shop it around to any developer they want. Slightly Mad Studio...
IMO they should get the guys who made NFS:Shift, Slightly Mad Studios, to make it. theyre independent so theres nothing stopping them there, and they know how to make a racing game that strikes a good balance between sim and arcade.
PGR is a great series, having basically shown the rest of the console developers how to do first-person view in car racing games, and made drifting popular in 'realistic' racers.
of course, i completely agree.
but thats not what we're talking about. the 'core' gamers are still getting their games, and theres no need for them to badmouth and be negative about Kinect when they havent even played it. Kinect doesnt mean they wont get Gears 3, or Killzone 3, or Uncharted 3. it just means more people buying video games and consoles, which is good for the industry.
i do kinda agree about the 'too many games' thing, but i also disagree.
people, as a whole, like choices. dumb people dont though, and there are lots of dumb people out there. they want to be told what to buy, and theyll buy it. if there are only a few games on sale, it means people have to buy those games if they want to play. games like Resistance Fall of Man had their sales DRASTICALLY increased purely because it was the best of a pretty poor bunch of games availab...
its funny how the comments on here are proving exactly his point.
people that have never used Kinect, and are not going to buy it for numerous reasons - mainly because they dont own a 360 - just badmouthing it on the internet.
believe it or not, the vocal majority of people on this site are still the minority when it comes to video game sales. if they were the majority, games like Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, MAG, God of War 3, and other PS3 favourites on here w...
have you had a look at 90% of the indie games? most of them are, in a word, rubbish.
putting them 'front and center' would be a bad move for microsoft.
lol
the dashboard isnt some new one for Kinect - Kinect has its own SEPARATE dashboard. how did you guys not know this? to get to it you can either choose it from the main dashboard menu items, or wave your hands around and then motion to go to the kinect-only dashboard.
let me reiterate - there are now 2 dashboards. the regular one thats just gotten a little facelift and speed improvement, and then theres the new Kinect ONLY dashboard. if you dont have kinec...
@PirateThom: "Sony "ignore" indie devs?
flOw? Flower? Everyday Shooter? Joe Danger? Shatter? "
yes, compared to Microsoft sony DO ignore indie devs.
on the 360, anyone with a PC and visual studio/XNA can make and release a 360 game to Xbox Live. anyone. you could do it. i could do it. joe blow down the road could do it.
Sony dont have anything like the "Indie Games" process, thats just 100% fact....
Black Ops will play better on the 360, purely because of the controller. the triggers are better for shooting, and the analogues are more precise. that alone makes it better on the 360, but combine it with the local multiplayer advantage that the 360 has over the PS3 (with the dual account sign-in) and the usual slightly better graphics and framerate that it will have, and then also the fact that the 360 gets the DLC for a month or 2 exclusively, it all adds up to the 360 being the best way t...
