Everybody has their opinion, but I really think the blood made a huge difference. The blood splattering everywhere really emphasized the attack. Instead in Sigma 2 we get little drops on the ground and some purple mist. It's as if your attack barely did anything to your enemy.

I'm a huge Ninja Gaiden fan and own 2x Ninja Gaiden, 2x Ninja Gaiden Black, 3x Ninja Gaiden 2, 1x Ninja Gaiden Sigma, 1x Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Collector's Edition and 1x Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword. So I was...

This game will probably even be less well received on the PS3 than on the Xbox 360 considering the latter is a shooters dream console.

With that in mind, it is clear that releasing Section 8 on PSN minimizes the risk for the publisher drastically. There is literary almost no cost in delivering something digital as opposed to a physical disc.

Basically by the time a game is almost complete, usually production on the second game would have started. By the looks of the comment, Sony hasn't picked up or committed to anything yet. This comment might has just been made to try and put pressure on Sony.

I call Quantic's next game will be a multi-platform by the fact that Sony already has way many studios and there are far more 3rd party publishers.

I highly doubt MS is interested in Sony's left overs.

I don't think gore is needed in everything, but in some cases it is nice.

For instance, I loved the blood in Ninja Gaiden 2 on the 360. The blood made such a big difference in satisfying slicing up your enemies. Then Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 came out and I wasn't as happy with it. Maybe because I was already wowed by the 360 version so it diminished the PS3 version, but that is a perfect example of gore is sometimes needed.

Alan Wake though is not a game that requires gr...

"They're shutting down Madden 09. Freaking Madden 2009!
You CANNOT tell me there aren't a lot of people playing that one. "

I didn't see Madden 2009 in that list? Where did you get that Madden 2009 servers are being shutdown?

I completely agree with you. The PSN network is free and it is nice, but I still prefer Xbox Live even with the charge of $30/annually. All the extra content on Live and the overall experience is nice.

With that said, MS will nickel and dime you to death if you want anything after you bought the machine. PS3 will cost you more upfront (this is no longer as much of an issue now), but has tons more features out of the box wether you need or want it. PS3 definitely offers the better...

Unfortunately, attach rate doesn't scale linearly. As your user base grows, you would expect the attach rate to drop significantly. Just look at the PS2, how many games reach sold half the user base? Heck, give me a game that has sold a quarter of the user base? Thought so!

The relationship isn't linear. Here is another fact:

a) if publishers are so happy about growth yoy? ask them if I had 1 friend I sold an item too, then the next year I sold two. I got 100% increa...

Basically what can they say to justify the graphics is poor? In what way can you say that which makes it even remotely entertaining/interresting?

Now on the other hand, if the graphics were good you could talk about what is there as opposed to what is missing.

I do agree that giving something a low score without discussing it, seems a little unjust, but at the same time what can you say about it. In some ways, not pointing out the flaw is probably preferred by the de...

reality is that there probably aren't that many people playing those games online.

I guess the disadvantage of consoles are no personal dedicated server for gaming.

The atrocity!

Maybe you should ask, why Sony isn't advertising their game?

Millions of people didn't play Halo for the graphics, they did it for the game play and that is what I care about the most as a gamer.

With that said, Halo: Reach is looking d@mn good!!!

How do you like the phone?

I considered getting the Aino, but took a look at the price at $500+ for unlocked US model, I passed. It didn't look very robust either.

Yeah, I haven't cared about a Sony Ericsson phone in ages. Looked at Sony's offerings and they all have some odd design at superbly high prices for what you get. I settled on the Nokia 5800.

You can still pre-order it at walmart and best buy. Since you pre-ordered at Gamestop it seems you don't care about the cost, so you can pay more for it at Best Buy, $99.99+tax.

If re-consider and think that the savings are worth it after all you can buy at Walmart, it is $89.99+tax.

I don't think MS pays for exclusivity as much as people think. They probably just gave much more favorable terms i.e. lower license fee, free marketing and etc.

MS has a bigger market share than Sony so it makes perfect sense to support that platform. It seems almost illogical for a 3rd party game or even 2nd party to stay exclusive. The cost of porting a game to another platform is only 5%-15% of the total cost of development.

It's not that you can't do the same on the PC, it is the fact that you can't default it to all PC players having it setup that way i.e. big screen TV and on the couch with a controller.

Furthermore, the developer is NOT going to plan ahead for the myriads of 3rd party accessories on the market.

This is sorta how Bioware did Mass Effect on PC, where they specifically configured the interface for the PC.

I don't understand what the huge deal is, I mean if ...

Well, with AAA exclusive games, price drop, more features, free online and the almighty blu-ray why aren't people flocking to the PS3 like they do to the Wii? That is not to mention their PS2 user base and etc...

In fact, why is it that PS3 barely matches the 360 in sales overall? Considering the 360 had it's dryest year in games, no price drop and worse removed their best selling SKU.

How is there any PC bashing. All they are saying is that the couch and the big screen TV is just more suited for what Remedy wants the experience to be.

I love PC and it excels in certain things such as RTS (Starcraft 2, C&C 4), but for others the console experience is superior... and no I don't mean necessarily graphics, but in sitting on a couch leaned back with simplified controls.

Each platform has their strenghts and weaknesses. Embrace them instead of b!tc...

I love the user interface. It is not overly fancy looking i.e. slow your device down, but extremely efficient.

I love the phone. Question is, GSM, G3/G4, factory unlock, dimension and Xbox Live Arcade Games?
