I completely agree. Why put out a 1080p trailer when clearly there is no benefit and everything points to a downside. Higher bandwidth cost, lower quality video and all just to say 1080p. I say it is Sony trying to portray GoW3 as something it isn't. This site is riddled with fanboys disagreeing when it is clear that there is no reason. Now if MS did something like this, it would be the end of the world. If Nintedo did something like this, it would get a free pass. Since Sony did it, it is a ...
Simple reason is the same way they were picking apart any major game alas Halo 3, Gears of War 2, GTA IV, Uncharted, Ratchet....
Sony is trying to pull wool over peoples eyes again. Why release a 1080p when the source isn't. It is clear that they are trying hard to convince you otherwise without saying it....
Sony is again trying to give you empty promises. So far the only promise that looks like Sony might be able to keep so far is KZ2.... We will see as I already plunked down the money for KZ2 and oh yeah SF4.
edit: I'm not saying the game isn't capable of 1080p, but rather why portray it a...
wow, I thought it would do really poor on the 360 in Japan and seeing how the PS3 Limited Edition sold out everwhere on pre-order in the US. I hope I get my PS3 LE pre-order. That is pretty respectable numbers for the 360 though.
On the other hand, this game has been out in the arcades in Japan for a while, so anyone who wanted to could play it in the arcades so it isn't going to generate the same kind of buzz in Europe and US.
Except IGN US states that there were some hangups in the PS3 version when accessing the XMB among other things. Check out the SFIV review yourself at ign.com.
GIMP is nowhere near the functionality of Photoshop as well as comparing a $400 Office suite, when there is a Home & Student version for 3 PC's around for $80 is not a fair comparison.
There is no doubt there is up-front monetary savings by going open source, but the flip side is that when there are issues (not to mention the learning curve) it is a b!tch to fix i.e. missing drivers, updates not working and etc....
I don't know, but I'm far more productive with a Windows system. Put simply everything is easier with Windows and my time is worth so much more than meddling with Linux. Unfortunately, in my position I have to learn Linux and although recognize its flexibility and power, it is no where near ready for prime time due to third party support. OpenOffice is nice, but still has compatibility issues with MS Office.
Bottom line is, the cost of paying for software versus the cost of learn...
I can't believe the amount of information on that website on rip offs... I quite after the second page.
I happened to come across this video by Adam Sessler and it is hilarious how people claim G4 is baised when they gave the game a 5 out of 5.

I particularly liked at 5:14:
"I wonder if Microsoft paid them [G4] to give Killzone 2 a 5." -Greeknerd
There truly is no bottom to stupidity.
This makes actual sense to compare it like that. However, a Home chair for $5 on that list is a rip off! If you are going to make comparisons like that and tout it to the public, pick the best stuff... not a rip off $5 chair. The title itself implies, let's rip off consumers. Sony desperately need help in their marketing department.
I do wish Xbox Live was free, but until Sony or Nintendo is able to give MS some serious competition for the online service, the fee is here to stay...
Because a majority of people gave a game a great review nobody is allowed to give the game a negative or neutral review.... Edge has always given odd ball reviews. If the game is good, buy it and support it, then move on.
Stop crying over stupid reviews, Sony Fanboys!
The funny thing about this is that the more noise you make about this is the more people will have heard about the bad edge review....
tudor,
There is no point in arguing with these people. If you look at all the responses and MS related threads on this site, you will see an overwhelming amount of hate towards MS. This site is full of Sony fanboys!
Except the Wii is now hackable by softmod. Who do you think will experience the biggest piracy problem? What about the Nintendo DS and R4? Why single out the 360?
I second Legionaire2005!
There is no such thing as a future proof console. The PS3 is already outdated by 2-years. The only difference is I paid through the nose for processing power that is likely never going to materialize and by the time it does (if it does) is a new console generation is out.
I want to see the power now, not something that might materialize. We as consumers all paid the price for a more expensive console that pumps out negligible differences in graphics between the 360 and PS3. It's ...
I'm very impressed with the KZ2 dev team really listening to gamers. I tried the game and generally I actually don't like the PS3 controller very much, don't care for the triggers and find that I accustom to the 360 controller faster mostly due to spending more time on it, but I did not find the KZ2 controls awkward at all. It took a little bit of adjusting too, but I had a considerably harder time with other games.
To me, the KZ2 controls are just fine and the game is fantastic....
I don't know why there is so much Windows Vista hate. I used Vista for a while now, and it has it quirks, but overall it made me so much more efficient at finding stuff.
For a regular user (non-techy) Windows Vista is a huge improvement sans the technical requirement.
Windows Vista has increased usability significantly and is considerably better than XP. It is just the haters that are afraid of change and recite stupid blog articles that give no reason for why Vista...
This game looks amazing indeed, but sadly it is the only title I'm looking forward to on the Wii.
Looks interresting, but clothing should be dirt cheap since it is extremely easy to fix it. Although Fei Long as me looks awesome!!! Still prefer Chun Li though... what male doesn't?
Yeah, all these are practically tiny little games made by a 2-3 man show. I think gamers should boycott the publishers and let the market decide if the games are worth more than $10.
