I don't know much about Alan Wake, but Gears of War 2 looked amazing to me. So did KZ2. At the end of the day, reality is that the differences is really minimal... and that game play prevails.
Just take a look at online stats, Halo 3 is still among the top 5 games played on Live over a year later. So is CoD 4!
Ask those people if they cared that Gears 2 is among the best looking game on 360... nope, they are playing Halo 3/CoD4.
To each their own, but I don't want to plan all my gaming activities. I game as a past time when I have the time. I usually play in 1-hour sessions when I have the time. Unfortunately, I'm not a 15-year old with a lot of time on my hand and so time is of essence. When time does free up, it is short.

You know getting up and changing the disc is minor inconvenience. Forced to wait 15-20 minutes is not, it is a hindrance. By the time I install the game, I do not feel like playing it anymore.
What happened to optional installs? That is a perfect middle ground between the two, slow load times if you don't care and fast if you are willing to sacrifice a little reclaimable drive space. That is why I like the 360 installs. They are NOT required!

Sins of Solar Empire sold well due to being a good game as well as having somewhat of extra support due to no-DRM. Release Spore without DRM and everybody and their mothers would pirate it.

Yeah, it works great until you have to install a OS update because your newest software requires it and Apple is ripping you off a again by charging for the update. Need software? Well, I do find it hard that a retailer would ignore a large portion gamers on one platform. What I did notice in the US though was that most retailers ordered less PS3 Collector's Edition. It was almost impossible for me to find a PS3 CE in store and I got lucky to find one since somebody canceled their pre-orders. I'm suprised at this new development when retailers stop stocking CE/LE 's for non-pre-orders.

I played the 360 version at the store and the quality of the character models differ substantially. The game was gorgeous, but quality isn't 90% or above.
