Basically you are saying that you can keep putting out the same game every year as long as you update the graphics?
You talk about AC's inclusion of MP, but you're forgetting that CoD adds new features with their instalments too.
Theatre Mode, Combat Training, Zombies is basically a game in its own right for many.
Updated visuals do not make it okay to pump a franchise out every year with minima...
It's amazing how little AC changes. It gets released yearly, makes minor changes and the gaming community accept it.

Assassins Creed is a fun franchise, but its entertainment value is starting to wear thin for me.
Quite bad, actually. I would feel even worse years down the line when they take my advice and release the exact same movie with added special effects and 5 minutes of bonus footage.
The GTA games for the PSP were brilliant. I hope they bring out GTA for the Vita some day.

They are overcharging for this game in comparison to other HD remakes. HD remakes (if bought as a single title, not a package) weigh in from £8 - £12 on the PS Store. Capcom games like Resident Evil 4, Code Veronica and now Okami are weighing in at £16.
I have yet to play either Okami or SOTC, but since I can get SOTC for £12 (when its sold as a single title on the PS Store) or the ICO collection for £15 (in a retail store) I think the obvious choice ...
I'm picking up Limbo in the Steam sale. I know it isn't some survival horror, mega scary game! It just has that vibe to it that is perfect for Halloween.
Its just the fact Beyond Good and Evil is around the £10 mark, SOTC is around the £12 mark when it is sold seperately on the PS Store, Jet Set Radio is below £10 I believe, The Splinter Cell games individually are priced under £10 each. These are all HD versions of last gen games. Heck, even MGS2 and 3 are £12 a piece.
I just don't see why Capcom charge £16 for their last gen games in the same way I don't see why CoD should cost more than...
Rayman is brilliant, but it lacks Coop on the vita. Uncharted looks solid. Gravity Rush didn't score highly, but I hear it's amazing. Wipeout simply isn't for me and neither are most sport titles.

I have promised myself I will buy this game. £16 off the PS Store is simply too expensive for me. I think I will have to change my plan and just pick up the Wii version. I would have bought this for £11.99 tops.
I don't understand the appeal of wanting to purchase alternate costumes, but it obviously applies to many people. Like you said they should be a lot cheaper. My only gripe with Fightng Game DLC is that it is very hard to incorperate (unless you're just applying visual changes).

You could get games you have missed out on playing for this price or get an amazing Indie title. There are very few pieces of DLC that are worth getting and this looks like the complete opposite of how I think DLC should be handled.
Reviews do help me decide what games to buy, but I don't buy games just based off their reviews. An RTS game could have a Metacritic score of 98, but I would never buy it because I don't like RTS games. If a game gets universally low scores and negative customer feedback then obviously the game won't appeal to me.
In this case I am just tired of AC games. It could get 9.5's off everybody and I would still wait for a price drop.
As fans we get treated to all their latest GTA projects. I think that focusing on GTA5 is a more important focus for them. Rockstar obviously want a bit of the Mobile Pie so it seems fitting that they just throw some old games at the mobile crowd so they can remain focused at giving console owners GTA5. It is the most simple way to please everybody.

A decent score coming from Edge. I think I will still decide to wait until a price drop for this game. To be fair I thought this game had the potential to blow everything out of the water this year due to lack of competition. Where are all the good games? I am not excited for any new releases.
Thing is with Gamespot is that they seem to randomly bash good games every once in a while. Infamous2 got torn to pieces in their review. I'm going with the majority on this one from what I have heard. I think it will be a decent game, amazing for fans and rated average by few. 7.5 is not a bad score, but judging by other sites this game should be higher. At least an 8.
