I'm glad I don't have a problem with retro graphics. I just started playing System Shock (1994) again and it's still amazing.
A lot of people (me included) still play older games. I even still play Sega Genesis, SNES and Dos games.
Mine is Oblivion so I skipped Skyrim. I just expected too much from the game. I liked the main story though.

You won't regret it. Though I have to say that you are really late to the party. I have a PS3 since launch and I missed some great games every year cause I didn't have enough time to play them all.
Maybe wait til PS4 is announced and see if it'll be backwards compatible. Then decide.
Sony would make a big mistake if they don't buy them. It was a mistake not buying Insomniac. Just look at Fuse and compare it to Resistance.
It isn't broken though. They are just improving it a little over time.
I understand why it may sound like an interessting idea but you have to look at the downsides too. It would increase the price of the controller. It is way harder to produce cold then heat. The heat could lead to sweating hands. The temperature effects would have a negative effect on the battery life.
I agree with not putting a screen on it and Curved L2/R2 Triggers. I partly agree with the Controller being a little bit to small for people with large hands.
But I really disagree with Eight-Direction D-Pad. Pls don't do that Sony. That would pretty much ruin fighting games for me. The D Pad is good as it is. And heat and cooling features are totally unnessessary.

By your logic Xbox 360 should've been more powerful than ps3. Both Sony and Microsoft have enough money to make a powerful console right now but both want to make money with it too. Microsoft won't sell a console with a 300$ loss on each just because they can afford it. And most people won't buy a console at a price point of 500$ or higher.
In fact Microsoft is making a lot of money with Kinect games. So they wouldn't even need to have the most powerful machi...
I don't think that Nextbox will be more powerful than the PS4 to be honest. Of course it's just speculation but if you look at the end of this gen it looks more like Microsoft is going for casuals lately with a lot of Kinect exclusives and less hardcore exclusives. On the other hand Sony's attempt to take a slice of the casual market didn't really work out that well with the Move.
I wouldn't count leveling all the pokemon to lvl 100 as playtime cause it's totally unnessessary. But if you count that then you could count pushing your pure attributes to maximum in FF7 or FF8 as well. Or you could could count leveling up all the golems in Enchanted Arms to lvl 999 (That could probably take you're whole life).
play time is really hard to define. I spent 300+ hours for Street Fighter IV just to master some characters.
To be fair Sony had a really great lauch lineup with the PSVita even though there were not many interessting games released after that.
I'm glad to see that there are some people around here that are giving this game a chance. I never played any DMC game but i know that Ninja Theory never disappointed me yet so I'm sure I will like this game too. I can fully understand that some people want the hardcore gamplay mechanics the older DMC games seem to have and the new one lacks but you have to understand that this is a reboot so it's obviously going to be different from the original.
2013 will be so expensive. I'll be buying 3 games in march alone (Sly, GoW:A, Bioshock).

I agree. I thought that Nintendo could get more third party support early on. They miss out on some important third party games like Bioshock Infinite. If Nintendo can't get these third party games they probably won't get the hardcore gamers. It will be interessting to see if games like Bayonetta 2 (exclusive to Wii-U) will sell at all on a Nintendo console.

I'm confident that it will happen. Probably not with integrated hardware though. Sony bought Gaikai so that would be an option for BC.
