That's easy. If you play a game on PC and choose high settings, framerate drops. If you choose lower settings framerate raises. Since you won't be able to change graphical settings on a PS4 It's up to the developer to choose if they want to go for more performance or more complex graphics (more details, lighting, draw distance, ...).
Keep in mind that the dev kits weren't equiped with finalized specs yet.
@Buuhan1: I really hope that you've meant your Vita display.
I have studied mathematics, physics, technology, criminology and several martial arts all over the world and do not earn any money for protecting gotham city at all. But I'm rich anyway so who cares.
Maybe I'm getting old but I prefer pressing buttons to be honest.
@darkmonkey13x: I didn't tell him not to spend his money on it. I'm just saying If you're buying a game you're not interessted in just to blindly support the dev you're in no position to criticise them going further in that direction.
So you're supporting a developer going a way you don't like them to go. Sounds like someone hasn't understood how to vote with his wallet.
Just like the D-Pad is similar to vita's D-Pad. Overall I really like the Controller from the looks of it. The only thing I'm a little bit sceptical about is the integrated speaker.
There is nothing wrong with Halo, Forza or Gears. People like that games so it's obvious that they make sequels. But Sony always brings something new to the table like Knack or Driveclub. If MS manages to get the established franchises as well as a couple of new IPs that'll be perfect.
Exactly. Just like gaming PCs are build more for efficiency compared to a High End PC. The difference here is that Sony built a system from the ground that doesn't need to run Windows.
I like that they asked dev teams to come with their own ideas for the PS4. That's the reason why everybody seems happy with the final architecture of the system.
Is the PS4 a high end PC? No. More like a super efficient gaming PC.
Mind = blown

I would've haggled the price down to 4.99. It's their own fault if they sell it with no information of it's value.
@jeffgoldwin: That's not a make believe number it just depends on how you interpret the term super high end. I'm not talking about gaming PCs (since gaming PCs are build for efficiency and are not high end) I'm talking about a PC with super high end parts (mostly meaning the most ridiculously expensive parts you can get). I'm talking about pure over the top hardware. It's funny how quick you get offended and directly assume I'm making things up even though I'm stat...
Super Highend PCs cost up to 4500$ so no they are not. I would say they are more like super efficient gaming PCs (at least the PS4 seems to be).
I agree that Microsofts silence brought them a lot of bad media. But I wouldn't say it'll damage their image unless the rumours come true. If MS gets it right with the Nextbox announcement and if they wipe the rumours out nobody will remember the bad media by launch.
Though they'll have to do more than that to get people interessted. The PS4 announcement was very well done by Sony and it had a clear message. I think That's what MS needs to do as well. The 360 ...
Nintendo was very far ahead but the Wii isn't selling good anymore while the PS3 still sells a lot. I'm not saying that PS3 will outsell the Wii in the end but it won't be the dramatic lead it once were (not to mention that this gen is already pretty even in sales compared to earlier gens).
I agree on that. And thanks for the compliment.
@decrypt: The thing is if you buy a PC for 500-700 $ it will run most games at 1080p 60 fps today. But in a year or two you won't be able to do that anymore. A friend bought a PC for 800€ in 2008 and he can't play Far Cry 3 with more than 20fps or Crysis 3 while I'm still able to do that on my PS3 from 2007. And those games aren't even optimized all that well on PS3. I don't want to dismiss PC gaming cause like you said you get the games cheaper most of the time but 15-20 ...
@Streets of Rage: People want shiny next gen visuals. That's why Deep Down got so many people excited. Knack Is technically imressive if you know where to look at but most people just don't see it. What makes the game interessting to me is the gameplay though. I don't know why you think it'll be laughed at if it was an Xbox game and I wonder why it bothers you so much.
Agreed. I don't know why people aren't talking about Knack.
Will it be a system seller despite coming for PS3 though? I think GT7 will be more of a system seller when it comes exclusively for the PS4.
