Yeah, that's true. But who's to say Valve won't be doing the same things as what Microsoft are doing. The SteamBox is just a PC in a small box that only runs Steam and probably a U/I steam layout for the O/S. Plus, the SteamBox won't have any exclusive's besides what Valve will develop and release themselves, other than that, it's just another PC....in which I don't think SteamBox is the answer, cause millions of gamers already have PC's that can run Steam and ...
That's the new Xbox One tagline:
Welcome to Xbox One: The Anti-Consumer, Super Restrictive Cable Box!
This is the only thing that is pissing me off with Xbox One, and it is the DRM/Always-Online bit....
Right now on my Xbox 360, all I have to do is put the disc in and play, that's it. With Xbox One, I have to put the disc in and install it under my account, then make sure my internet/cable provider doesn't have outages or temporary down-time by shutting off their servers, then I have to make sure Xbox Live Server's (Network and Cloud) are up and running and they a...
Agreed. I think if one is going to write a blog about privacy/security concerns and just focus on the "Hot-Button" device being talked about now, which is Xbox One, he/she should also include every device that has this kind of privacy concerns...
I'm just as upset as the next person about Xbox One and all these bloody guidelines/restrictions, but if your going to specifically target Xbox One, I find that absurd when every single device and software can do the ex...

True, but you can't argue the fact that in the not-so-distant-future, having cable-boxes and separate cable lines will be a thing of the past. All 3 main home services (Phone, Internet and Cable TV) will all be provided to households through 1 Internet/Modem Box from your service provider and everything will use internet and wifi/cellular connections.
Point is, why would Microsoft focus on cable-box integration into Xbox One, instead of focusing on better TV Service/IPTV ...

I believe that is why the Indie Development scene has grown substantially in the past few years, and why most gamers are now heavily interested and invested into Indie games.
I agree. In fact, I think they should have scrapped the HDMI-In port and the whole "hook your cable box to Xbox One" strategy and just went with IPTV apps and creating an IPTV network.
Cause like you said, more and more people are just subscribing to Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go for their TV/movie watching instead of paying between $45-$110/month for just TV cable service. Especially if Microsoft are always looking towards the future, then they should have realized the gro...
When at all did I say that MS should sell Xbox? Can anyone on this site read anything or comprehend English at all?
I cannot believe my one comment turned out to be so disliked about nothing. All I said was that Microsoft would be foolish to sell off Xbox (In other words, MS should keep it and invest more into it).
Damn....I've got a headache now!
not necessarily....I was referring to Microsoft as the entire company, not just the Xbox brand.
I don't know about you, but I haven't seen too many people on various sites, besides N4G, react positively to Windows 8 (Maybe Windows 8.1 might improve the outlook of Windows 8 in general, but that is yet to be determined), or even the Windows RT OS for ARM processors.
Isn't that how it's always been done though?
Look back to the PS3 and Xbox 360 at E3 2006. Most of the demos that were played on stage were all "Live" demos with the developers playing the games on stage and being in front of the audience. Yes, they were all using DevKits, but they all used the controller that would eventually ship with the console, and the way the games looked when playing them at home looked exactly the same as when they were being played ...
I consider "live" gameplay to be a person, from the development team, on stage playing an actual demo, with the real controller in their hands, playing it in front of everyone in the audience.
I agree. Even though majority of people on forums hate Microsoft - be it for ruining Windows with Windows 8, charging users to play online with Live Gold, having a lackluster Xbox One reveal - Like them or hate them, Xbox is a globally recognized brand and gaming platform, and is probably the only profitable source of revenue Microsoft makes to keep their business alive (except for, of course, Windows license $$$).
So it would be foolish of Microsoft to sell off anything Xbox...
Only One thing must be DONE!!!!
The entire 90-minute press conference showing off live, on-stage gameplay of Xbox One Games.(And among other things: announce launch date & price info, either a One-Model sku or different sku tiers and launch games/launch window games.)
Yeah same here. If I got Spike TV in HD through my cable provider then I might opt with that, but Spike are broadcasting the same thing as what GT is streaming, and I'd rather have an HD feed from my PC rather than a standard 480i/p "fuzzy" channel on my TV :D
My body is ready....I think!
If Sony show off The Last Guardian and Agent at E3, and announce they are both being released on PS3 and/or PS4....Game Over Folks!
The reason why I keep asking for clarification is because it's not 100% official, yet! Sure Cerny and Yoshida can say everything about the PS4 in interviews all over the web, but because it isn't officially on the playstation website and given how in this industry, rules and regulations can change in a day, you never know. Plus there's still a few things like: Will I be able to borrow or lend games to friends without logging into my account? Do I have to install every game under m...
