Xbox One future proof? As in chunks of your games will be "offloaded" to the "cloud" and will thus no longer be playable in a few years?
That kind of future proof?
Publishers are trying to transform games from a product (that you own) to a service that you rent from them, until their servers see less activity and are invariably turned off.
Time to make our voices heard and to vote with our wallets. Enough is enough.
I dont mind if the online multiplayer is separate from the campaign, especially if done right. What I do have an issue with is when the single-player and multiplayer are combined (described with euphemisms like "seamless" and "persistent", as with Ubisoft).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this project already funded, several times over? I know publishers can help with marketing and so forth, but I do not want Capcom anywhere within remote vicinity of this project.
How about if I don't want any other players in my game?
Somewhere, Capcom is crying.
Yeah, no.
Note to Nintendo: Wii U ain't doin' too hot, either.
Was very interested until I saw online-only. Automatic no-go for me.
"Both games have benefited from the Azure cloud per the developer interviews".
You mean developers paid to work on games exclusive to Microsoft's consoles?
It means Microsoft is trying to turn games from a product into a service to prevent you from ever owning them.
EA would shudder at the mere thought of free DLC.
This is becoming a new trend to try and subtly sneak in always-online DRM under the guise of "persistent" and "living" worlds. Bull****. The Crew sounds like a great game, but I'm concerned about it being an "MMO-type" title. Do we actually get to OWN the game when we buy it? Will we be able to play it offline, or when Ubisoft shuts down the servers?
Gee, maybe it's because they have, I dont know, so many more games?
By "we" you'd think there's actually more than a troll voicing their opinion in a half-assed article.
Apparently not.
Must be that "next-gen" engine they're using.
