Ok if you already have a WiiU - such as myself - but, those who don't, yes, if any system is worth the price of just one game alone, Zelda: ABOTW is it. You only need to frequent any review of said game if you don't take my word for it.
Regarding the launch lineup critics and naysayers. I agree, one game isn't a great launch...only...that one game is A Breath of the Wild - one of (already) the best videogame of all time - AND the fact numerous other titles have been released alongside it. I mean, let's for arguments sake say the Switch launched only with Zelda. Which type of brat is going to then want more games to play when said one game offers so much, is so rich, detailed, playable and HUGE.
Judge a console/game on what it is, Not what it isn't.
Agreed. Nintendo isnt held to the same standards as MS & Sony, but that's because Nintendo's standards are usually that much higher. Nintendo on their A game = an unsupportable force AND immovable object.
Let me ask you this - even if I know the answer already - have you PLAYED A Breath of the Wild?
Gameplay is king, but, regarding ABOTW, as is visuals, atmosphere, control, etc, etc, etc...I could go on. ABOTW is not lacking in visuals, FAR from it, but what makes it SO special is it's the entire package, wrapped up in a bow delivered to you by Marilyn Monroe.
I can't get enough of reading comments in which people refuse to believe ABOTW is scoring so highly based on nostalgia alone, rather than it being the experience of a lifetime and already one of the best videogames ever fashioned.
Horizon? Get the **** out of here.
Nintendo just once again skooled every developer working today. Mic drop? and then some...
No. It hasn't. Short answer.
TLG? Many people's GOTY - runs like a dog.
SS was a 'perfect' 10 for many, myself included. I guess you prefer spamming attacks however. Likely killed it for you. I get it.
You do know more games are available and coming soon, don't you? Oh wait, your trolling. My bad.
If you're talking literally, no, not every Zelda has been awarded a 10. Few and far between in fact. Ocarina and SS were however, rightly so.
Is that a real quote? I doubt it. SS was imo a 10/10 game, easy.
You haven't a clue, have you?
Yes, Sony/Microsoft have all these highly rated games, so highly rated and in such abundance...BUT...
What if (like me) you own a PS4 (for example) and a lot of critically acclaimed games for said console you've played and quit too soon after, left feeling empty and uninspired, my mouth not raising even a grin. This is where taste factors in. I pick up the majority of Nintendo games and feel escapism, enjoyment and inspired.
Each his own of course.
@MrSec84 yes, actually. Less chav fodder stinking up the shelves will always be a good thing imo.
This proves once again being the exception favours you in the long haul.
Many, yes. Quantity over quality is it?
Such as? Consider also both PS4/XB1 missing out on games available exclusively for the Switch is a BIG miss likewise.
The f**k!? How you gonna even compare Zero Dawn with A Breath of the Wild? Zero Dawn being a very, very good game, great even, A Breath of the Wild being a masterpiece for the ages.
Breath of the Wild now ranks for me alongside Super Mario Galaxy ¹ & ² and Metroid Prime as the best videogames of all time. Resident Evil 4 deserving an honourable mention.
