I do agree while Zero Dawn will be enjoyed by many currently, it won't be dug up or remembered too fondly further down the line. My money is on ABOTW being a game for the ages.
A perfect analogy. Zelda being the Lamborghini that is. Both perform the same basic functions, yet the Lamborghini adds sensation in spades. The VW is a simple A to B affair.
I genuinely laughed reading the pros and cons cited in said review. A shiitier attempt at cluckbait I have never seen.
Perhaps a Metacritic average of 98 is that for a reason? Whether you are along for the ride or not, fact remains, this is one of the finest videogames of all time, easy.
Fair play.
The Switch is £280. A PC which may or may not get this running at the same performance may cost upwards of £700. See now?
People questioning Tokyo EAD...
Ok?
It's official now. This game is a true masterpiece for the ages, one in which only roughly a dozen or so truly remain.
Before getting your knickers in a twist, this is likely a great game, I honestly don't know, but a PlayStation exclusive scoring a 10 in a PlayStation magazine...shock much?
That's a huge if. My guess is, probably not. Also, emulating this game via PC in any playable state = £1000 (roughly).
I'll tell you untrustworthy...
Armchair pundits, nearsighted fan boys.
This many reviews pointing towards said game being a masterpiece for the ages I tend to favour above all else.
Comparing SS to ABOTW is chalk and cheese. Two essential Zelda titles, but both for different reasons. SS had (for me) some of the best dungeons I've played in a Zelda game to date, coupled with the innovative use of Motion Plus. ABOTW is a masterpiece for its over world, adventure and mood, that and the fact everything else feels so right.
I wonder how many people negging on said game have actually played it? My guess, very few. People talk gameplay vs graphics, but (for me), this game feels thus far one of the finest videogames I've ever played due to the fact nothing is lacking. Gameplay, graphics, playability, control, sound/music, RPG elements, etc, etc, all wrapped up in a terrific package.
Discussions regarding its framerate - again, by people who presumably haven't played said game - argue othe...
You think the expense of getting ABOTW running at 4K justifies the means? We must be talking well over £1000 at this point.
Meanwhile Switch/WiiU owners are deep into said game.
Frequent any videogames website and in reviews search for Zelda: ABOTW. That should give you numerous reasons why, since you don't take my word for it. You should give it I try, since I guarantee you have not. You may tend to agree with what others are saying.
Ever heard of a little game released recently called A Breath of the Wild? Let me tell you, it schools both Horizon and The Witcher 3 in terms of adventure, RPG, open world...everything really. Please don't negg me unless you have actually played Zelda aka ABOTW first, like I myself have.
Sweeeeet! Picking up for the Switch, for real.
Here's a thought. Zelda: ABOTW is receiving 'perfect' reviews across the board because it is the culmination of 4 years of hard work from some of the hardest working and most skilled developers working in the industry to date.
No such thing as a perfect game of course, but a game in which has a list of positives which go on and on and on, it's negatives a couple (if that) minor nitpicks. Yes, it possible this is the new yardstick for which all other adventur...
You have to question whether the reviewer has played said game, as anybody who has couldn't possibly score this game either essential or a 9 out of 10 (minimum).
