Yes, the price would on the surface appear steep, particularly when it's available cheaper on other platforms, however...having it for he Switch feels another perfect fit in a long line of Indie games making their way over, and for what you pay it offers an experience second to none. Besides, it's little more than a trip to the cinema.
Yeah, because God forbid anyone other than the self proclaimed 'hardcore' should enjoy videogames.
PS4 'won' for investors, financiers and the like, Nintendo won in the hearts and minds of gamers.
@Knushwood Butt
Yes, the Mario Party games are very popular and Party 100 is another solid if unspectacular addition in this long running franchise. Not every game can be innovate and essential.
The New 3DS I still find a very, very attractive proposition. Yes, games released are slowing down, but backlog of games is so far reaching I doubt even the most hardened gamer will ever run out of new games to experience, play and enjoy.
Ok, more Vita games than 3DS over the December period, but 1 game per week (3DS) isn't exactly poor. 1 per month, perhaps, 1 per quarter, yes, but 1 per week, that'll do nicely.
Great, another clickbait/troll 'review'.
Yes, unfortunately, and while pros come with it, generally it's one big con.
Great, thanks. Unfortunately I'm a bit of a performance snob, and on a game like Overcooked - this isn't A Breath of the Wild - I can't justify the drop-off.
I'm finding it impossible to get a straight answer on this, so can somebody PLEASE tell me if the Switch version of Overcooked has been patched to run at a locked 30fps yet?
While nice, buying a Wii and said games will cost you much, much less than buying a Shield and said games. Also, I'm not familiar with Shields joypad, Wii Motion for games such as Galaxy (for example) would be a stumbling block, surely.
A Breath of the Wild has already shown, open world JRPG is achievable on the Switch, both looking and running great. The only thing perhaps too ambitious regarding Xenoblade 2 was releasing it before Xmas, clearly hurried. Still a great game but with a few more months could have gone from a recommended to an essential, but I'm nitpicking.
Wait...Wii plays GC perfectly without "needing to be 10 times more powerful" than the Gamecube. That argument is hogwash. I remember when PS3 launched with full backwards compatibility, only for Sony to remove this option via a software update later down the line. Later PS3 models would simply not allow this via Sony scrimping on hardware. Sony discourages backwards compatibility simply so it can charge consumers through the nose for a limited/flawed model.
That or A Breath of the Wild. I'd give a very honorable mention also to a game I fear few people have played, Ys VIII (PS4).
It really is that good.
Don't be stupid/ignorant. While the WiiU wasn't a great console it does house a dozen (roughly) essential titles exclusive to it. The PS2 however was a cut above, a great console with a far reaching library of essentials. The Dreamcast - while I thoroughly enjoyed it - can't hold a candle to the PS2.
Don't bother. This is the type of knucklehead who'd dismiss masterpiece after masterpiece only to champion some shovelware distributed via EA or the like. A fan boy of the worst variety.
Bayonetta 2, SM3DW, Tropical Freeze, Splatoon, Mario Maker, MK8, A Breath of the Wild, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Smash, Rayman Legends, etc, etc, etc. None of these games deserving?
It's true. Just completed the main story tonight and my goodness, does this game just keep rewarding, surprising and delighting. Plus, I don't know all this talk of being easy, many of the moons/challenges have been down right difficult.
"Beats"? Both entirely different beasts. Why people try to turn these things into a Vs competition is beyond me, I mean, beyond the obvious clickbait.
