Cost could be a factor. I have been gaming on consoles since the Atari days, not into PC gaming at all as the consoles are good enough for my eyes so I hope consoles never die. I am happy with the PS4 and X1 so I am good.
Got both consoles, fine with both, so I am in no rush for new hardware. What I think we will see from both Sony & MS at some point is we will see revisions, made to the X1 and PS4, maybe re-release the consoles with beefier specs instead of releasing entirely new consoles.

As an owner of all the consoles, and part of preview X1 program, I really have no issues with anything mentioned infact I prefer the X1 setup to the PS4. Everything is easy to use, I use kinect for voice, to take snapshots, record that, or xbox snap to or xbox go to, or got to wgatever apps or settings I want, so I am fine with the Xbox.
I was speaking more moreso about the console versions than pc.
So what if the game was downgraded. Looks great on the consoles, better on PC by my eyes, as I am sure the dev made the best game they could as each platform allowed.

You guys keep saying cartridges like we had with the N64, but don't we already have carts in the way of sd and micro cards. I think we are more likely to see some sort of small card like I mentioned instead of going full N64 with the old big catridges for the device.
I just bought a 128gb micro sd card for my phone. I was wondering, since that is more than twice the space of the largest bluray disc, could a console deliver games from a micro sd card instead going the disc route like Sony and MS?

MS is a software company, not a videogame company, clearly transitioning away from Xbox, and lets be honest, their future is not based on the Xbox platform, so Xbox games going to pc, why not, MS makes other devices that play games, and Windows 10, seems like a good fit to also make the games available to their other platforms. Played both, same tv, look about the same to me, so preordered the X1 version.
Another thing is the price was reduced on the consoles so that would drive down revenue for each console sold...
I don't get rid of consoles, & and own every console since the Nes, so keeping both my PS3s. The Superslim I use as my traveling blu-ray player, which I keep in my bag and take on trips, & my home Slim PS3 is my home bluray player, as the X1 & PS4 just uses too much electricity plus the PS3 is a fantastic player, and I still play some of my PS3 games. This is the best reason for me to keep my PS3s.
