"no. PC's support G-sync, no frames lost or cut when running at 120 fps."
Oh, PC's may support G-sync. You forget to mention it's only on Nvidia. And only a few monitor models currently have support for it. (and even then some of those need a 100 dollar add on for it to work, it doesn't come out of the box.)
Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited for G-sync tech, but you talk about it as if the support is wide enough for you to...
You talk about Nintendo being affordable and omit the fact that performance per dollar is WAY higher for PS and XBox products, compared to nintendo products. You get way less performance per dollar on nintendo, and you talk about it as if it is a good thing.
@dedicatetogamers:
Correction: DTS is a different format from Dolby. (No such thing as DTS-HD 7.1 Dolby.)
This looks quite beautiful but BF4 is 60fps and this is 30fps. It'd look really nice if they could have gotten this to work at 60fps without compromising the shaders. Could have accepted 900p or even 720p if it meant 60fps.
Thanks, that's what I did actually. The model I have is really bad. Measurements done using singstar, previous LG turned out to be 60ms (still unplayable for drum sections) with a direct connection. Had sold it to a friend and got the Samsung as the LG didn't have Dolby Surround (but only Dolby Digital). Really bad purchasing decisions one after another.
Better yet, check the page itself! :)
You might have commented on the wrong news.
I hope I can find an amp that outputs DTS-HD, AND also has a low latency mode. My samsung home theatre adds 110ms in the bypass mode, worse than the TV set. I'm forced to connect cheap PC speakers to get 0 latency to play music games.
I close any page that has auto-on sound (be it on the page itself or in an ad). This happened to be such a case.
PS4 will have "second screen" support, that's very similar to smartglass. So PS4 covers all grounds.
No. The point of trophies being tiered is to solve your "problem". It still gives people some satisfaction to people who don't want having to "get 4 headshots while jumping on a tramboline within 5 seconds", while the hardcore gamer can show off their gold, silver and platinum trophies.
@irepbtown:
Some PS4's will have faulty CU's, some won't. The faulty CU's will be disabled. Even if there are no faulty ones, they will still disable a set so the PS4's are all identical in performance.
So indeed, some PS4's will have defect-free chips, but they won't be able to utilize it.
@clouds5: I think the 1152 number was not decided solely by Sony but there had to be a mutual conclusion between Sony and AMD about the...
Yeah, indeed. This is done to increase yields and even if the process gets good enough to not disable those in future, the possibility that the earlier models having faulty CU's makes it impossible for Sony to activate them retrospectively, without bricking a good portion of early models.
Mr Pumblechook: But we are not talking about rendering full on games, we are talking about streaming games that already work at 60fps. On additional note; 60fps encodes do not need double bandwidth because there are less differences between each frame. I hope they increase the frame rate of the streams in future, at least for Vita remote play.
@kneon: The system could try 60fps streaming and could use 30fps as fallback, for cases that the wifi interference prove too much of a...
It's still easy [for me] to tell the difference, even on a small screen, and I care.
Let's not forget to mention that it will take a while before people can download and install 40GB games on a mobile device.
No Vita, it says PS4 related. Unless remote played.
It won't be 1:1 but probably something like 4:1 so that you can keep on looking at the screen. It sounds counter-intuitive but it works.
@Lisica: They would do that to keep their userbase. COD used to be the pinnacle of fluid FPS gameplay at 60fps in the now-old gen, and Battlefield couldn't touch it in terms of responsiveness, there's only so many frames you can pump out when you have as ambitious goals as BF. No other FPS could hold a candle to COD in that regard as well.
Now people will be able to get their 60fps fluid FPS gameplay fix from other titles as well, Titanfall, Killzone, Battlefield, the...
They didn't lie, it may have sold out at most retailers. They overestimated the demand at some retailers, underestimated them in others, so I don't see any wording with malicious intent.
