Want to backup that terrabyte hard disk and restore to the new drive? I don't. It takes several hours. You need to have a lot of space laying around. You could use that terrabyte of free external hd space as an extension storage, instead of a backup / restore vessel.

15 years of work??? How old is she??

I don't get the joke with "facially correct". This is just a bad UV mapped texture, again, I don't get it if it's supposed to be funny.

On Rotr, they have devised a method for snow transformation, while very crude as an approximation, it does the job well I think. They were to present their solution as far as I remember.

I think it looks the part, did Uncharted 2 tackle very deep snow?

PNG is a lossless format. They need to specifically apply avarage filters to it for it to be "lossy" before saving the file, which I don't think they will waste cycles on. So yes, it will be lossless.

Those who are hitting disagree button on positive comments and not caring to explain why they are disagreeing?

They've really hit the nail on its head with their SSR technique, I don't think anything screen space is going to look better than that, they even have "contact hardening" reflections, mighty impressive.

Console players bought P.Cars in droves. First week sales had 6% PC only (the percentage could be higher now but I don't think it would even be 25%) Since PC version is supposed to be the best version, I don't think not having a console version would increase sales as to compensate for the lack of console sales, those who had PC's that's more powerful than consoles would surely choose the PC version)

I'm not keen on this kickstarter though.

It'd be nice if they know how to label a graph.

I think they should let you use the theme for 5 minutes at least. Do they let you try themes? I guess not, judging from the article that he had to buy to test it. A 5 minute trial could increase sales of higher quality themes, and people could avoid buying low quality ones that doesn't even try. This could increase the avarage quality of themes that are put on the store, and even overall sales as people do not like to gamble with their money.

The trial even could be like ...

Well, if Sony lets users at least set wallpapers, there wouldn't be as much blaming. The fact that they don't even let people set backgrounds create opportunities for low quality "theme" work for so called devs who are able to sell these stuff on a curated platform.

It's funny that people actually thought that Microsoft could release a console with an API that takes away a 3rd of the potential performance. Hint: They wouldn't.

I approve this. A lot of people will find it pointless though, they probably want development money go elsewhere. However, once this is included, maintaining it shouldn't be too costly. It's the same core game every year anyway, iterating on the previous.

How hard the conversion is irrelevant. They should have released a properly working product...
BUT: I'll be a bit "speculative" here, but Street Fighter game logic is not exactly rocket science. There should not be much problem running it at 60hz. It's not like there are several NPC'S doing line of sight, visibility checking, path finding, it does not need complex physics interactions, realtime inverse kinematics, dynamic culling.

The core game r...

Indeed, Sony was responsible for the conversion, and they went cheap. But it cost them more in the end. This kind of publicity was probably not what Sony was going after.

Good question, I can't really check. Maybe they had the original in-engine rendered videos at 1080p30 , but didn't care to re-render them at 60fps like the good guys at ND, but just re-encoded them at 1080p instead of 720p. That could also explain the slight difference in size.

3930d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

That doesn't makes sense. If you have a slow drive, you'd want to compress as much as possible on the source.

3930d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

It could affect if the pre-rendered videos were 60fps in the remaster based on whatever bitrate they choose, but they are 30fps, at least from what I can see in the Hades demonstration.
