A frame-rate analysis is required to claim how much improvement this provides. If it fixes somethings that happens 5% of the time but affects the game 100% of the time, it's a bad move, they should downgrade when the performance is needed dynamically. That beach scene for example works fluidly in 1.00, looks much more flatter in 1.08. It's a 0% performance increase for that part of the game.
Yeah, everybody should enjoy the game, but it's ridiculous to have it downgraded, especially if people were enjoying it anyway (if they are 'still' enjoying, means they were enjoying it before and no reason to downgrade graphics)
The website features auto-playing ads WITH sound. Straight to my blocked list of websites. Are the people making those ads or letting those kind of ads on their website like some random shit playing in background while browsing? I thought not. When will they ever learn, though.
GamingBolt lacked basic understanding of English on this one. Now the game may be ultra realistic looking, or not, we don't know that yet. He says:
"Ironically, some of our partners insisted on seeing it live bc they didn't believe the video we sent was real."
They didn't believe it *because* it was so realistic, they just didn't believe it was real. It could be because of a number of things, not limited to graphics that are realistic looking...
Rocksmith is not a plastic toy guitar game. It's the real deal for learning actual guitar playing.
Looks great.
"The listing for the Compatibility Tester possibly indicates that Sony are testing out a new firmware update."
It's a continuous process, for your information. They used to test, they are now testing, they will be testing.
Hope the stick rubber peeling of problem has been fixed for good..
You can still "lock" a solid 60fps game at 30fps. They can call it whatever the heck they want.
"I wouldn’t really call this a reveal" -> But I'd use the word reveal in the title.
Click-bait.
4K will benefit people with money that can replace their TV's.
60fps as standard would benefit every TV owner! The more K's, the less FPS!
"Water not possible on past-gen"
is a remark about past-gen.
"Water only possible on latest-gen"
would be remark about PS4 & Xbox One. Semantics, my dear!
Nice video. Though I'd preferred cloth sim to take place on something other than a tube.
I wish the higher sales could be attributed to 60fps, but I guess it's just related to the fact that there are more PS4's sold in that region. (I wish, because it would send a nice message that people care about 60fps and it translates to sales)
I agree with you, but I'd like to add that they were doing right when they were knocking points of the PS3 version, putting out half the amount of frames is no insignificant difference (however, even minor hiccups and small resolutions differences were picked on). NOW this massive difference became insignificant and it's very disappointing.
karam's math is correct, but it the difference may not be statistically significant, that's a whole different ball game.
Hottest news.
The game MIGHT(?) run on lower resolution on old hardware? I'll be damned.
First of all, they could have made the online portion opt-in. The way they designed it forced everybody to go online, even required the game to be saved online. I'm also told the cities are a 9th size of Simcity 4.
They made online an integral part of running the game without apparent benefits. And it may be true that removing that thing may have required some effort, but an opt-in online with cloud saves as enhancement would not have necessarily increased the development...
This also clearly proves "coding to the metal" is indeed beneficial: it's something that the PC elitists scoffed at when console owners claimed higher performance compared to pc graphics card with similar specifications.
It's really good that those gpu cards will use their potential to a fuller extent!
