Adding an analogue stick would not split the user base, it would enable many many more remote play titles so you could play many of your ps3 games using remote play. (L2 R2 being a problem, but those could be uncomfortably emulated using an extra key etc etc.)

I am a Pes3 and Pes5 fan. Pes08 was pukeable, Pes09 was meh, but hay at least better than 08. Pes10 will set the bar in graphics, but I having strong suspicion that the replays will run slow as a turtle, given the team's past efforts. I am also afraid the game may stutter during normal camera view.

PS3 and Xbox360 was already beaten by PC's at the time of their debut. I remember being wowed by PS2's graphical capabilities, PC's I could afford couldn't begin to match it. However, there was already affordable 8xxx nvidia cards that more than doubled the performance of Ps3's poor RSX about the same time it launched.
