This was such a ridiculous comparison. Who is this guy trying to fool? Halo Reach is an amazing looking game. He tries to compare it to Mass Effect and as good as that game looks Halo Reach still looks better. The other thing is that Halo Reach has a lot of lighting and post processing techniques that can only be fully appreciated while the game is in motion. But like I said, even though Halo Reach looks better in motion and is pre-alpha in these screenshots, it still looks much better t...

Do you even know what diffused lighting is? That just means that lighting is scattered in all different directions that creates a sort of soft lighting. It's not really a type of lighting engine in games. I think you are just throwing words out there with no idea of their meaning.

Halo Reach is using HDR and deferred lighting techniques that make its lighting some of the best found in any console game.

Yeah, make the brutes almost like big yetis. That would be intimidating going up against them if they were like that. I'm liking basically everything I am hearing about Halo Reach. Bungie is definitely taking the game in the right direction.

Really? I thought the Alan Wake trailer showed a higher level of graphical fidelity. I was expecting more from the God of War 3 trailer, but it basically looks like a more polished version of what we already saw in the demo.

I wasn't overly impressed by the God of War 3 trailer either. I guess after having played through the first two games in the saga the new one doesn't really surprise me that much. It looks like more of the same. Which is a good thing, but it didn't blow me away.

That's another fallacy. This idea that exclusive means something is only on one platform, when in fact at its root 'exclusive' simply means to exclude.

For example, a club can be exclusive and still allow its members to be white, black, asian or hispanic. This is true because the context defines in which sense the club is exclusive--only for paying members, only for gays, etc.

It's all about how the term is used in context. It makes sense to say a game is exclusiv...

I love how we can play Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Forza 2, Project Gotham Racing 4 and Forza 3 on the PC too... oh wait.

You're not a gamer, you're a fanatic. A frothing-at-the-mouth, rabid, anti-Microsoft, anti-American, fanatic.

You know why Guerrilla and Naughty Dog are Sony first party studios? BECAUSE SONY BOUGHT THEM.

Why is it ok for Sony to buy studios, but if Microsoft works with an independent studio and funds a game's development it is suddenly bad?
I'm sorry, but your position is untenable and irrational.

@ the guy below me.

Who cares if they canned it? It's their game. It has been their game for years and they have been funding it's development all that time....

I agree. Those are all very attractive games. I'm already in love with Mass Effect 2. It's one of the best games I have ever played.

Look on the bright side. At least it's better than the sub-HD graphics the game in your avatar offered. I'm sure you still enjoyed that game, right?

I agree, green. I found the Alan Wake trailer more impressive than the God of War 3 trailer.

I love God of War and I have played through both of the previous games on the PS2. I guess that's why I am not overly impressed by things like the scale, because I have seen what large scale SSM did in the previous God of War games on the weak little PS2. Sure, the scale is amped up for the new game, but you would of course expect that. When I look at the basic look of the game during...

It sucks for PC gamers but it makes sense why Microsoft would want some of their games on both the PC and 360 and some only on the 360.

I agree with the guy above me that no matter what MS does, some people are going to complain.

It's funny how last year the high scores that some PS3 games received were rubbed in the faces of 360 fans by PS3 fans, but now that several PS3 games have received lower scores the attitude has shifted and now we are told that these games are really amazing despite their lower scores.

Why wasn't that attitude applied to the great 360 games that came out last year? Where was the 'oh, it's all subjective, just try the game out for yourself' attitude last year?

Have you guys seen the Alan Wake video? Well, it's extremely impressive and looks as good as any game on any console platform.

All this talk of exclusives is for nerds. It's just like talk of sales, it's all for e-penis bragging rights. To a gamer it doesn't matter if a game can be played on the PC or whatever. All that matters to a gamer is that they can play a game on the console(s) they own.

I can play Mass Effect 2 on my 360 and I can't play it on my PS3, so for me that is a game I buy and enjoy on my 360.

Besides, Mass Effect 2 is a console exclusive and it helped sell more 360s in J...

Pure and utter garbage. The difference between exclusives is marginal and the difference in multi-plats is marginal as well.

Ok, but can we agree that it doesn't matter which console you get Final Fantasy XIII for? Or are we going to have a double standard as is oh so common on this site?

It seems to me that many people here only want to say the differences don't matter when the 360 versions come out on top. But when a game like Final Fantasy XIII comes along those same people make a huge deal out of any supposed advantages the PS3 might have.

Just a bit of inconsistency that I have noti...

1.5% is hardly tearing like crazy. In fact, it is nearly imperceptible, except only rarely. When it gets up to around 20% or more, that's when it can be very problematic and annoying.

You guys are latching on to the one thing that is very slightly worse on the 360 (even though 1.5% is almost nothing) and trying to ignore the much bigger differences in other areas that make the 360 version the superior version to buy if you have the choice.
