So true. That's how I see things in general. You can't really compare different games that easily. They always have their own strengths and weaknesses and it is virtually impossible to accurately say which one looks better.

When I played Gears of War 2 I was impressed. When I played Uncharted 2 I was impressed. When I played Alan Wake I was impressed. When I played GOW3 I was impressed. When I played Red Dead Redemption I was impressed. So, since they all look...

You guys are silly. You sound like you are trying to convince yourselves more than anybody else. Everybody that has seen Rage has been extremely impressed. IGN gave it their "best game of E3 2010" award.
Or listen to how they react in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Rage looks amazing. It has fantastic textures, amazing ligh...

Streaming techniques don't change the fact that all textures have to be put into memory to be used. He is right, memory is what decides how good your textures can be.

Next generation a developer could make a game that looks 5 times better than any game we have today and they could theoretically put it on one DVD. It might only be 2 hours long, but they could put it on a DVD. In other words, having more space on the disc allows you to make your game longer (if you can...

No, that blog is absolutely biased. If you can't see it then it's because you share the same bias.

Like others have pointed out he spends 90% of his time just comparing character models, as if that was all a game was about. There are about a million other things he could have looked at, but he only mentioned areas where Uncharted was strong and avoided areas where it is weak.

One example of his obvious bias is when he compares particle effects he sa...

Tell that to all the fools who called Natal/Kinect a gimmick. That's optional as well and can be enjoyed by anybody with a small outlay of money compared to what's required for 3d.

Memots, I agree that it doesn't have quite the visual pizazz as Killzone 3, but that doesn't mean it is a bad looking game. It really is one of the better looking shooters around. The thing is, Killzone 3 is just exceptional in the graphics department. Only now are we starting to get games like Crysis 2 and Rage on consoles that can go more head to head with Killzone 3 graphically.

Halo though is one of the best playing shooter franchises in many people's opini...

Windows Media Center did not come out with Windows Vista. It was around a long time before that.

In the wikipedia article it even explains how a new version of Media Center with an updated interface was made available when Vista came out. So clearly Media Center was available before that.

I'm not going to bother to find out exactly when it first made its appearance because I don't really care that much and it doesn't matter anyway because as I...

If you think having an interface that has categories that scroll horizontally is some kind of an invention then you have no clue about the history of interfaces in electronic devices. It goes back far beyond the XMB.

In any case, the specifics of this interface look a lot more like what was in the Media Center than the XMB. The fact that they both scroll horizontally for main categories and vertically for sub-categories is insignificant, since as I already pointed out, that...

Well, there are only a couple basic ways that you can have a menu interface. I mean, all of my electronics devices have interfaces with categories scrolling horizontally or vertically or arranged in a grid. Those are basically the only sensible ways to do it.

The grid pattern is kind of messy and less elegant than a vertical or horizontal scrolling interface, especially if you have a complex array of features. So you are left with either horizontal or vertically scrolling ...

Awesome. It looks so much better than the first one. I'm looking forward to this.

Of course it means money. Companies don't do things like this unless they have some incentive, and given the fact that the PS3 still has the smallest user base the most likely explanation is some kind of deal with Sony involving monetary "compensation".

In terms of graphics it would go like this in my opinion:
1. Crysis 2
2. Rage
3. Killzone 3

In terms of fun it so far seems like this to me:
1. Crysis 2
2. Killzone 3
3. Rage

But then again, I am one of those people that loved Crysis. The gameplay really clicked with me and I really enjoyed it. This new one also looks really cool to me. It's on my top 3 games this holiday.

One segment in the station was the same as in the gameplay vids we saw from E3 and it looks the same, so it is in all likelihood the 360 version or the console versions in general.

The video Pandamobile gave the link to shows about what Crysis 2 will look like on a decent PC. In my opinion, it looks about twice as good and has twice as much detail and fidelity as Killzone 2. Even the console version looks better than Killzone 2 to me. I'm not trying to troll Killzone by the way, it's just that its a fantastic looking game and a good reference to compare to.

@ Echo307

And guys like you that come in here and bitch about the people bitching about PS3 fanboys are more annoying than either.

The reality is, people have a very good reason to complain about PS3 fanboyism: it's ridiculous and out of control. It's ruining this site and a whole bunch of other sites accross the net.

What I can't believe is the anti-360 spin in here by people like you.

First of all, the whole thing could be a fake or an attempt at smearing the new 360. That scenario is entirely plausable and wouldn't be surprising at all given the general fanaticism of many fanboys.

Second of all, even it is legitimate it would hardly be evidence of anything other than an isolated failure. You do realize that there were many people that reported their PS3s had f...

The error in your reasoning, peeps, is that you don't have to destroy the console to make it give you that warning.

The fact that some people are so quick to jump on one failure (which itself might be a deliberate smear tactic) and condemn the console's reliability based on that one report is very telling indeed. It shows the mentality of many fanboys, and frankly I wouldn't put it past one of them to do something like that.

Both consoles have some very nice looking games, as well as some mediocre looking games.

But believe me, Rage looks as nice or nicer than any other game on consoles. (Not to mention that it runs at twice the frame rate as most other games to boot :)

Trust me, a lot of people were blown away when seeing this game demoed. It really is an amazing technological and artistic achievement.

Personally I think it is the nicest looking game on consoles.

Umm...well Crackdown 2 still looks better than Twisted Metal so I don't know what your point is.

Face it, Twisted Metal looks like crap. Crackdown 2 doesn't look that great, but it sure as hell looks better than Twisted Metal.

And as for the guy that said Twisted Metal has always had crappy graphics, you are completely wrong. Twisted Metal Black was probably one of the better looking PS2 games at the time it came out. The PS1 iterations weren'...
