You def need a quad because it will require using a different motherboard, which is a pain/expense to upgrade later. Alot of games now are optimized for quads, and soon 6-core will be th new standard (they are already out, but dont add any benefits for gaming).
While not nearly as good of controls as the Vita or 3ds have included, there are some decent 3rd party controller options for touch screens.

Obviously games are far more complex than in past years (not sure how thats not obvious to anyone without a lobodomy), but additionally devs keep pushing graphic boundaries with very outdated tech in consoles. Theres going to be a consequence and something has to give in terms of more glitches and bugs until the next gen of hardware can provide some relief.
Nintys "superior gaming free platform" has horrible online play, crappy fps controller, and subpar graphics. You get what u pay for.
Free MMO's are not even close to as good as paid ones. Garbage is free, Subway is not. Im paying to eat at Subway. You can have the free stuff.

I think one of the hardest things is determining the right power supply. Some of the latest graphics card suck more and more power the higher end you get. To get around this obsticle I just go to of those pre-configure pc sites and put in the components that I want and it adjusts the power supply accordingly.
Also you could note for online play:
1.) Consoles
2.) PC (due to widespreed and uncontrolled hacks and cheats)
Actually ms cannot be sued here because of the negligent use of this product. Xbox does have a warning label on stating to not cover the exhaust vents.
