I agree with what you are saying, but that is what the developer has stated in many interviews. I guess they started with the idea and then drew further inspiration from those titles as they continued making it.

For those who want an easy to use device for a cheap price. HDMI support is negligible considering the Wii is component only anyway.
If you want to capture HDMI or older consoles, they wou better be willing to spend more cash. For the price and the functionality of the device and software, it's hard to beat.

I know it wasn't Sony's fault but the PSN Outage certainly has made me rather worried about using my Credit Card online. Not to mention I think it is rather suss my bank called me saying my card details had been skimmed, and they cancelled it before any real transactions could be made (they said $1 had been charged). I'm all for PayPal, perhaps Sony will adopt the service in the future also.
See the whole video is poking fun at the multitude of gamers who are complaining like spoiled brats! So many people are bitching that they already have the games and they should be entitled to PSN credit instead.

Games like Perfect Dark that receive the HD treatment are viable - you get them at a discount price via XBL or instances such as the GoW collection when the disc content is cheaper than a new release that is totally fine.
