I love it when people are critical of "journalists" that don't even consider themselves "journalists".
For those who talk about Half-Life 2 - YES it is the best FPS shooter ever IMO but is a PC game. We don't consider the PC platform to have "generations" like a console does. PCs are always movie, where a console has a lifespan - hence the generations.
What would be your top 10?
Hit its peak?
"MW3 sells a bajillion copies"
Maybe, but even if it has, it's been one hell of a ride!
The should just sell each new sequel as DLC, as that is all they truly are!
Thanks for the support guys, glad I'm not the only one who thinks like this. Sometimes it feels like I'm taking crazy pills.
LOL I mention Battlefield 3 once and I'm a CoD hater. No one says anything about my Team Fortress 2 reference, or the fact that I mention in the final paragraph that I loved the CoD series, and I'm worried about its inevitable decline, release after release.
I'm not a CoD hater, but perhaps your blind love for the series is clouding your judgement.
Obviously technology has been evolving but Sony has been focusing on the Vita for a while now, and Microsoft have been focusing on Kinect.
Whatever plans they have in motion, I feel they haven't been developed enough to release a new console, they will feel half baked.
Yeah Apple release new products every year but Apple is a special exception. Their release strategy is merticulous and can't be matched by anyone. While they release new products every ...
I definitely see your point but do you really think they are capable of providing a big enough jump for you to shell out another $500?
Sure the games may run at 60FPS and the 3D support could improve BUT for how long? If they spend a few more years developing their tech I feel we could get another set of consoles that last 5+ years. If they release now I'd expect 3 years before tech starts to surpass them.
Did you even read the article? I mainly blamed developers and gamers for the push on new hardware. I simply menitoned that the Wii U has a jump, and it makes sense for them to release a new console as it is a significant upgrade over their current console. I feel the a new Xbox and PS as it stands right now wouldn't be a major upgrade.
What can a new console offer us more than a minor update in graphics though? If you want to continually have the best graphics around you get a PC so you can upgrade your parts at a fee. Do you want to be paying $500+ for something that is a minor leap in graphics alone? I don't see Sony or Microsoft bringing enough innovation to warrant a new release right now.
Really surprised to see so much love in these comments. Thanks for the support guys, I'm glad that I'm not the only one this series has struck a chord with!
If The Lost & Damned can be offered as DLC surely they could have tacked on the Frank West skin, the tweaked quests and the sandbox mode in a small DLC pack. Capcom have lost the plot in my eyes.
I'm so glad you agree with me :)
The only reason I gave it 6 is because for someone who hasn't played Dead Rising 2, they will still find a great game.
For the rest of us however, this is an absolute INSULT!
Played the 360 version and it was crisp and ran silky smooth. Still, I'll be picking it up for PC at launch.
Actually I posted an informative preview along with the interview with Tim last week. I wrote this after an overwhelming response from those articles that it looked like a Borderlands clone....
After playing it for an hour straight and meeting Tim Willits last week I'm happy to report that the game is all of those things and more my friend ;)
Nail on the head my friend, all of those games are fantastic! I just reviewed Hard Reset last week and was beyond impressed and Red Orchestra 2 is probably my favourite shooter of this year!
Que?
It's a celebratory release. It's celebrating its anniversary. What are you talking about?
