Why is everyone so hung up about visuals. Honestly I'd rather play a well written game with great gameplay mechanics over a visual masterpiece that is boring and plays the same as every other shooter on the market. No doubt that Crytek can make a visually stunning game, but can they tone down their open world battles to suit the story that Homefront started?

While I agree that all FPS are starting to feel the same where Homefront stayed off the path was with it's unique and harrowing story. Sure you might be sick of the FPS action but can you name another game where you have to hide in a pit of corpses to merely survive?

Sure it may just be about the shooting for you, but following the story you are a resistance members on your home soil, and this army has invaded your country, slaughtered thousands of your citizens and then ...

Exactly. I thought the first was pretty average but the story behind it was great. If Crytek can pull off the same storytelling technique with their ability to make a fun shooter we could have something special on our hands.

I actually think reviews in general have been pretty generous.

That sucks. I wrote this article based upon my experiences with the PC version. We lost our game saves after our first session in co-op but since then my issues have been very minimal.

I call them how I see them mate - this game was really not that great when compared to the first two titles. There were plenty of issues with the first two titles that SHOULD have been addressed in this game and they weren't. That was detrimental to the final score, but I still gave it some positive points and as I said in my REVIEW if you are an existing fan you'll like it, if not stay away.

As for you graphical remark lets face it - how can a game like Gemini Rue c...

I don't see what DLC has to do with the actual gameplay. This was a decision made by the publisher most likely, not the dev team. Another attempt to retail to cling to life just a little bit longer..

AS far as not being as progressive that's blatantly obvious - to stay true to the original how could it have been truly progressive? If it was, then I doubt it would have stayed true to the source material now would it?

Name me a AAA title this year that...

Exactly! I was there for the announcement (video was in the article) and I was gobsmacked. Not because Iw as impressed, because I wasn't exactly sure what they seemed so excited about!

I think you've missed the point. This is more about the accessibility of the hardware, the tech catching up, a more affordable pricing model, more exclusives. The service did little to dilute the brand. PSN usage increases proved that.

$200 hey? Despite parity and strong Aussie dollar, we still get raped with game prices.

It's a totally different experience to BF3 (which I played at E3).

This is a realistic approach - no HUD, no cross-hairs, one shot can kill you, you can bleed out. Driving in a tank for instance you can only see out of the little window while driving, or the gunnery port when manning a machine gun.

If you're after a realism game this will be right up your ally.

Wat...?

lol agree with you all! Article doesn't really attempt to choose a definitive game, just looks at every major exclusive franchise, how it has been expanded on PS3 and then asks the community for their own thoughts.

I think the author chose Uncharted as the best of the PS3 exclusive IPs. I'd probably go with MGS or LBP.

Why not? Anyone who purchases the Digital Deluxe version from now until release gets instant access to the beta.

So typical that a gamer is bitching about something that actually benefits the consumer. Gamers complain too much.

Totally agree - I love that it is an adult take on what has become pretty much a family friendly genre. Sure it's crude, but it's also very well written and the delivery is pitch perfect. I really hope they make a new series after Episode 3 ends.

HAHA well said my friend! I love the added realism and improvements over the first game.

While we all have our favourite rotations it would be nice to have some interesting and challenging new maps to give it a bit more life. Perhaps you would develop a classic and new map rotation then ;)

I think the conclusion does a good job of it:

"Just as a new piece of hardware moves out and another moves in, Sony is looking to expand the worth of its product range by changing the way in which consumers approach a particular product. Looking at the PSP as a multimedia device first, a gaming device second is not as outrageous as it seems, as it's been used in that capacity for a majority of its life cycle anyway."

That to me alludes to what w...
