Honestly, Amazon has better day to day prices than what Gamestop is offering in this sale. Plus, with Amazon, no tax and free shipping.
George Hotz's actions hurt Sony, yes. But, it also hurt consumers. It hurt people trying to play online games when hackers were cheating. It potentially hurts future game development. Why does a company dump millions upon millions of dollars into a system? There is an initial loss on every system sold and Sony makes money by moving software (licensing, development, distribution, etc.) If a system is being hacked, it gives developers pause when looking to make games for that system -...
As opposed to what is sometimes the norm on N4G, I am going to give you a point by point response to why I believe that you are incorrect in your indictment of Sony on this particular issue.
First, I agree with you that a person should have the right to "jailbreak" or mod a product that they own. Period. End of story. Back in the PS1 days, people would install mod chips to play Japanese games that were unavailable in the U.S. But, in this particular situation, t...
"one a quasi-logical step for an existing game"
maybe trophies for MGS4?
Why would anyone disagree with you? BSG was (and still is) one of the greatest dramas ever on television (science fiction or non-science fiction). To me, better than Star Trek! (and I'm a huge trekker).
Anyway, just wanted to show my support for BSG!
LOL... I take that as a "No", then? No wonder they have only sold 12% an hour into the deal.
Medal of Honor now available for $19.99... is it worth it?
I played the demo and deleted it after 5 minutes. Didn't like it at all. Same old, same old.
HOLY CRAP... that Donkey Kong level is spot on perfect. That is crazy!
It reads like a 10 year old put it together. To me, there is no bigger turn-off to a website than horrible punctuation and grammar. From what I can see here, this site has both -- right up front, no less. Here is the mission statement:
"A social network geared towards gamers, where no matter the console, wether you're a hardcore PC gamer or a Console gamer theres something for everyone. I hope to become big enough to bring game developers on board so the gamers can ...
It may have advertising, but if I'm not paying then it is technically "free." ;)
I agree. As an example, Angry Birds is free on Android, and (I think since I don't have an iPhone) .99 on the iPhone store. Yet, it is $3.99 on PSN as a mini with LESS content. I mean, what the frack? If minis were .99 to $1.99, I'd buy them. The only minis I have are the ones that were free through PS+ and they are certainly not worth the price that Sony is charging if I had to pay for them.
I guarantee that this is a set-up by an attorney. Since lawyers are not allowed to solicit themselves, they find a person who will serve as the class representative and get them to "spread the word." All these suits do is make money for the lawyers. Consumers get no "damages." This guy makes it sound as if Sony will be paying out money to affected people. No. Sony will be paying out money to the class action lawyers to make this go away. It is extortion pure and simpl...
If he erased the hard drive or in any way altered it to prevent the inspection, he would be in contempt of Court. Then, his problems would go from facing a civil lawsuit with money damages (which he could avoid by going bankrupt) to a criminal offense and possible jail time.
Activision runs the franchise into the ground and then pulls the plug. Is Call of Duty next?
Downloaded it for FREE last night... PS+ member!
This is the way of the tech world nowadays. ALL companies (Apple, Sony, MS, Oracle, Intel, Sun, etc.) have patents that they use as leverage to extort money from other large tech companies. The cases go on for years and years and a lot of lawyers make a lot of money. It is business as usual.
How are the scores disappointing???? According to Metacritic, the game stands at 87, with only 2 scores at 70.
I hate these flamebait articles. First, there have hardly been any 7/10 scores. This article makes it sound like it is sitting at 7.0 on metacritic. In fact, there are only 2 scores that are a 7.0. The majority of the scores (20 in all) are 9.0 or above, giving a metacritic score of 87. The Call of Duty metacritic is 88 for the PS3 and 87 for the 360. Halo Reach sits at a 91, with 5 scores a 70 or lower and one 50. There are a lot of 80s and 90s (as well as 100s), but bottom line is th...
Don't bloggers have a thesaurus handy? Everything always looks "stunning" according to the internet.
