That up until the game was announced for the PS3, PS3 supporters were all like, "The game is crap, we don't need this shit, whatever, blah blah blah..." and now look how excited everyone is. Hilarious.
Dead Space- No other game sustains this level of dread and fear for it's entire runtime. I honestly felt at one point that I was going to have a heart attack.
Fatal Frame 2- The only game to give me nightmares. It was definitely worth finding out every tidbit about the Lost Village.
The reason I stopped playing it was because it stopped being a fair competition and became an exploit showcase. I did get a lot of playtime out of it, especially with spec ops but there was really no reason for me to go back to it once I finished with that.

... but I consider popularity and ease of use to be the main points of what makes communities come and go. If a game plays damn well and offers great gameplay online under a setup that doesn't make the casual gamer feel like they need a degree in neuroscience, you've got an almost surefire hit. A shoddy interface and weak matchmaking will also kill your game without a doubt.

That Dark Void demo was enough to make me steer clear and I'm glad I did judging from the reception it received.
I've played about an hours worth and yeah it pretty much is the exact same thing but with a lot more people to kill and scores of monsters. If you were a fan of that scene in Robocop where the Toxic Waste guy gets hit by that car, you'll love this.

I just finished the main quest about fifteen minutes ago and I have to go on record as saying it was a very satisfying adventure all the way through. The voice acting was spot on and the attention and detail in every aspect of the game made this one a winner and one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure of playing through.

I preordered this a month ago already. Now I'm completely convinced that this game is going to rock.
Then you guys weren't paying attention. It was a lot of talk before and after the games release about "Who needs that crap?" in regards to ME2, simply because the game was an Xbox exclusive. Now all of a sudden, people are talking about how cool that game would be on the PS3.' More or less in the same way people were trashing the GTAIV expansions... until they got to the PS3.
I still feel the only reason that game sold well was because of the lack of titles for the system at the time. I remember that game being pushed very heavily at Best Buy and being very prominent when you walked in there. I'm sure anyone looking for a new game for their PS3 would've picked that up on a whim.
I mean, has the PSP had any decent releases in the past year or so? If I had a PSP I'd have jumped on this too to give my system some use. And that's not knocking MSG, which we all know is a great series.
