Happy to see the Xbox One support on here. I preordered mine last night as soon as I got home from work. Not sure what made me pull the trigger but whatever it was fell somewhere between Dead Rising 3 and Titanfall. See you all Day One!
And the vicious circle continues to go round and round. Don't you see that all the modding and piracy is the reason this is even being done in the first place?
Not even you believe that. We both know that once they start showing you the games that are coming out, you'll start foaming at the mouth. Look at Deep Down for the love of God. Now, I HAVE to get a PS4!
My guess is they're gonna follow suit. This flat out sounds like a deal that was made behind closed doors with all parties involved. Right now Sony has everything to lose. They want to look like the good guys, which is why we haven't heard anything from them in regards to DRM. And really, why wouldn't the publishers and developers go with the system that MS is implementing? It works out better for them if anything and they're practically guaranteed a bigger piece of the pie. O...
Absolutely. These games now take quite a bit of time to develop. Don't be surprised if this gen pushes or even passes the ten year mark.
I guess you won't be getting a PS4 either being that it's pretty much guaranteed they will follow suit. This whole policy with used games is something that has already been hammered out between MS, Sony, possibly Nintendo and the major publishers. Like I said a moment ago, Sony is letting MS take the punches first before they announce their plans which I can almost guarantee will be very similar.
Funny how Sony hasn't announced their plans for online/ used games/ etc. It's pretty much guaranteed that they'll be doing something very similar. They're just sitting back and letting MS take the punches first.
That's the thing about conspiracy theories. You can always shift them around to be the absolute truth with no proof needed whatsoever. If you want to buy into the joke of an idea that MS had a hand in that, then by all means. But the fact that you have Major Nelson, the PR face of MS himself, publicly praising the game should really kill that notion off. Unless, him praising the game is all part of MS's master plan! Buahahaha......ha.
So ridiculous. I really, sincerely doubt that MS would go out of their way to actually pay people to give PS3 exclusives lower reviews. That simply makes no sense. These are opinions, people. The reviews that I read on The Last of Us that didn't give the game a 10/10 or similarly perfect review gave pretty good reasons as to why they didn't. Dodgy AI that takes you out of what the game is trying to accomplish is enough to knock a score down a point or two for ANY game. Knocking points...
Who is this person kidding? Max Payne 3 has way too much in favor of it to be considered anywhere near worst game ever.
The number of disagrees on your post just boggles the mind. It's what someone with common sense would write yet the majority of people on here just can't bring themselves to be a little more open minded.
Several of my friends had worked for them (we're talking way back from when they were still called 'Software, Etc.' up through the name change) and they were treated really bad by them. All of them were canned for really shitty reasons. Seriously, how do you fire someone for not getting more pre-orders on a triple A game? That sounds like a marketing snafu on the developers part, if you ask me.
I also cannot stand the whole used games model they have in place. Th...
Exactly the same thing I said. Just because Sony hasn't opened their mouths in regards to this matter, it's pretty much unthinkable that they would implement something similar. Right? RIGHT? (smh)
Hilarious. Don't any of you people find it strange that Sony has said nothing in regards to whether or not their system will have a similarly implemented DRM on used games on their own machine? What they're basically doing right now is standing back and letting MS take their lumps for something that I can almost guarantee they support themselves. You'd be a fool to think that Sony is not involved in this in some similar way when you consider how much money stands to be made off of...
It is! LOL
I'm not surprised you only have one bubble.
Well put. It's definitely not just videogames either. I'm a big movie buff but if you look at certain movie sites, it's filled with people who are very similar to the worst that the gaming community have to offer. And again, a lot of that stuff is based on misinformation.
It's kind of crazy how the pre-release buzz on this thing has been made into this insane circus. A buddy of mine has been going berserk in regards to a lot of this stuff and about 85%-90% of it is pure speculation. I really love videogames and always have but seriously, sometimes I need to take a step back and ask myself why our community is filled with so many people who are so quick to jump the gun and make claims and decisions based on hearsay.
Really surprised to say this but my initial excitement about this new Xbox is just dwindling lower and lower. And now, reading these quotes from the indie developers really just took the wind out of my sails. Really hoping that MS starts listening to these guys and playing ball because like one of the indie devs said, they're basically handing indie gaming over to the other companies on a silver platter.
MS may have an uphill battle to face but you'd be an idiot to count them out completely at this point.
