Is Defiance really that bad? My buddy loves it to death and nearly convinced me to pick it up but something kept me from pulling the trigger on it.
That's exactly how I feel about it. I think they saw that they couldn't necessarily keep the AI under complete control so they made enemy detection a little more forgiving. It says a lot that even with this small hiccup, the rest of the game is just that good that it really doesn't even matter. Now I'm wondering if the people who hit me with disagrees even bothered trying to get my point but thank you for replying in a mature fashion and giving me the assurance that not everyo...
And one more thing: that Polygon review that stated that the game's atmosphere was almost ruined by some dodgy AI routines had a very good point. It wasn't consistent and kind of shattered what the game was trying to achieve, especially when fellow NPC's would stand in the open and enemies wouldn't see them.
To say this game is perfect is a bit of an exaggeration but still, it doesn't take away from just how impressive the game is.
You know, as much as I loved this game, it sort of lacks in the replay value department. It kind of has the same appeal as watching a really depressing film several times over. In a way, I feel like replaying it multiple times would almost ruin that magic of experiencing the amazing and moving story for the first time. I'm kind of just sitting on it for now and waiting a bit before I replay it again.
Already have mine preordered.
Seriously, what exactly did PS4 show IN TERMS OF GAMES that makes their system the better buy? I'm not trolling but seriously now! I saw nothing at their conference that screamed, "BUY ME NOW!"
And just for the record, I WILL be buying the PS4, just not at launch. I like to have my bases covered.
Good luck waiting for that one. Believe me, I'm with you on a proper Shadow of the Colossus needing to happen but with all the problems The Last Guardian is dealing with, I'm not holding my breath.
I will eventually own both systems but I'm going with the Xbox One first. Simply because the games that I saw on the Xbox One caught my interest. I keep seeing PS supporters raving about Killzone, a series which amounts to little more than eye candy. I saw nothing on the PS4 that got me as excited as Titanfall did. Again, I will be getting a PS4 down the line when I see games for it that pique my interest.
It's a niche game that might have been too odd for some. I liked the demo but I couldn't convince anyone else to drop the change for it so we could play together.
Blame the gamers, not Sega.
I also have it preordered. DAY ONE!
Bubble for you. I can't be the only one noticing that the PS fans are acting a bit obnoxious in regards to any news concerning the Xbox One. And your comment on making the hobby acceptable to adults was spot on.
Really, PS fans are kinda making themselves look like a-holes with this move. I won't be signing that petition but it's a shame that a bunch of people have to mess with another bunch and rain on their parade for no reason other than they can.
OH can't you see....
You belong to me!
Dude, haven't you noticed how you'll go on some shopping site to browse stuff and then go to a non consumer site and see ads for the same things you were just looking at? It's already happening and in many different ways. Really, all you're hearing about Kinect is just paranoid nonsense. Until I see solid proof that video, voice or whatever else is being taken off of Kinect and used without the consent of those being recorded, I'll leave the panic to other people.
I'm eventually getting a PS4 but right now, I'm going with an Xbox One first. Why? Simple. They showed games that actually impressed me. I can't think of one PS4 game that I saw that truly impressed me the way that the games lineup on the Xbox One did. Titanfall alone was enough to get my preorder in that same night it was announced.
The fact that the author starts off the article by beating the red ring of death drum discredits him almost immediately. I'll take a red ringed system that MS will replace for me than getting my account information stolen any day.
Ultraviolet SUCKS. Anytime I get a Blu Ray and it only offers a UV code instead of an iTunes download, it irks the hell out of me.
Better enjoy that "free" online while you still can because once the PS4 drops, ta ta for all that.
Michel Ancel, I like that guy. I like hearing from right minded individuals in regards to my favorite hobby.
