NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
This was the top complaint on my wish list for Gears 3. Consider me stunned. They know everyone was pissed about the MP lag with Gears 2. I was, and I have a blazing fast internet connection.
And didn't they just recently announced they planned to "do right by all their fans" for Gears 3?
How in the hell would this be doing right?!
Edit: Alpha - I understand that. Words that I neve...
I'd probably stop just short of calling the original great, but it was certainly very enjoyable.
Preordered CD2. Loved the demo. Fingers crossed that they amplify what I did love about the first.
Amazon & others routinely run $10-20 promos. If you chain these together you can get a string of new games a good chunk below their usual retail price.
I haven't paid anywhere near full price for a game since I started doing this sometime last year (usually $13 to 23 below sticker price).
That's what it always comes down to.
There's a lot of money left to be made (or recouped) with the current crop of machines.
Rearrange the names in the sentence and perhaps this writer would be on to something.
Somebody just lost their credibility (or never had any to begin with).
The only thing they've topped out lately is their talent.
Boy bands, metrosexual teen pop stars, yada yada yada. All colossal crap.
The apocalypse must be close. Eventually God is going to simply decide there's no room on His green earth for this kind of abomination.
@ Queasy
You perfectly described the hypocrisy that is Activision. Bubbles mate.
What's sad is that they do think exactly like that AND they actually believe their own bullsh!t.
...or karma coming back at 'em.
What they should be worried about is whether or not they have the programming talent left to even make use of Move or Kinect.
...everybody knows these games are coming - the only question is when.
It's a pretty nice luxury to leave out heavy hitters like R3 and The Last Guardian and still have a damn fine E3.
And of course, it keeps all of us salivating in the meantime...
I install all my games to the HDD to save on wear and tear on the disk drive, prevent disk scratching, and to reduce overheating and fan noise.
It's actually pretty easy to to fill up a HDD if you do this.
And I've nearly filled up 350 GB on my PS3 (500 GB HDD at the present - might need 1 TB before it's over).
The option of 500GB plus should be available at a reasonable cost for both systems, IMHO.
I kid, I kid.
On topic, at face value this clamp thing doesn't sound good.
But if I remember right the x-clamp fix was actually to address an issue with the soldering compound (they used a cheaper, weaker version in the early years of the console) along with the mobo warping and poor ventilation/overheating? So were the clamps a contributor to problem or the x-clamp fix just an attempt to remedy the other things that went so wrong in the design (by tight...
I'd never played a Forza game before Forza 3. It's an absolute blast. If you only own a 360 and buy one racing game, this should be it. (Note: I still hate Turn 10's shameless smack talking and buy their games used because of it)
If you only own a PS3, well, it's a no brainer that GT5 is the only show in town. I pre-ordered GT5 this week after I saw the firm release date - looks incredible.
They're both the clear racing sim kings on t...
I just got home from work and was perusing the E3 news from the day.
This one, frankly, was a stunner. Never saw this coming.
Especially given how Valve went to such great lengths in the past to distance themselves as far as possible from the PS3 (in fact, insulting the hardware and company at one point)
The other game news out of E3 is awesome with a lot of predictable stuff and a surprise mixed in here and there, but this one is the surpri...
Could be worth $47 + free shipping... (same price both PS3 and 360)

Gabe found out that there weren't going to be complementary Twinkies & Ho Ho's.
The old Cole had an edge to him, and it had nothing to do with a manicure.
The new design looks like a metrosexual who got lit up when his electrolysis treatment went horribly, horribly wrong. NOT what I'm looking for in my gaming.
Isn't that role already filled in the console world?
** cough Wii ** cough **
Seriously, nobody needs a console from Apple. The only thing I could see them delivering would be a slick user interface coupled with truckloads of casual garbage wrapped in crap DRM.
As far as impressive games on powerful hardware and a great gaming experience... that's a big hell no.
Speaking as a PS3/360 owner, there's not many Wii titles that I want. This would be one of them.
I'm not a huge fan of on rails shooters, either, but I love Dead Space.
If the price matches the product, I'll buy.
More Dead Space for no extra charge? I'm in!!
Granted, the "on rails" angle isn't usually my sort of thing, but for this particular IP - cool.
It's a shame DS:E didn't sell better on the Wii, but that's what you get when you misjudge your target audience.
