If the tech was good they would have used it instead of relying a pre-recorded crutch. It like a dev claiming there new game has amazing realtime graphics then showing nothing but CGI.
I've gained new respect for IGN. I thought all th big websites would pander to MS seeing how MS will probably be spending a lot on adverising for kinect (horrible name). It's probably fun though for 10-15 sessions, I'm not buying it but the Wii crowd might.
Unless that thing is tiny it look pretty badly designed ascetically. And what's up with the disk tray, slot loading would be much better.

I bet developers think differently, he should have made it an easier architecture to develop for.
Maybe they're doing what Apple does and releasing PS3D+ with a 3D Blu-Ray player in it and better 3D capabilities than regular 3D.
Know what sucks about 3D gaming besides the low quality of the nacsent tech - we can never know what the games look like cause our computers don't do 3D! What is the point of these videos of 3D games when no one has the device needed to see 3D. It's like trying to show 1080p games videos to people with SD tvs but worse.

The only thing I agree with is the console reliability issue. It doesn't need an HD or memory cards - why do you think MS allows for 32 gigs of storage on USB keys. I'd love a slim 360 with a slot loading disk drive, they could also just use standard laptop hard drives like PS3 that are replacable. That may even convice current owners to buy a slim instead of a 180 hard drive.
Not sure about the character redesign he looks 17 but the game graphics and art style look great
There are still some amazing games comming out of Japan (my personal fav game this gen is MGS4) but out of the 18 current current gen game I own, only 2 are from a Japanese developer MGS4 and Street Fighter 4. Also doesn't help that 85% of the market is Western. They're not MW fans and were not Shengu Mitzi somthing bubble head fans…or gundam or Dynasty warrior - although maybe I'd like Rape Play lol. Notwithstanding, Nintendo still dominates all other developers in terms of sales...
Alan wake would have sold more if it was a better game. Considering how long they took to make it and the fact that it was an exclusive - the game should have looked and played better. It just gets redundant by the end. And why isn't it thrilling or scary? It's not bad just not great either.
I would say 360s and PS3s are tied or 360s is a little better. I have both and they both have there flaws. The 360 dpad is atrocious I don't understand how they could botch that up so badly - 5 yes in the generation and they still haven't fixed it. 360 also has very cheap rubber on the sticks that rips of after a couple of years of play. Totally agree, they should give basic online game playing to silver free and reserve parties, cross-game chat, facebook, etc. to gold members. That or 360 games with online mp should be cheaper than PS3 games b/c 360 owners get less features for the same price.
