I consider myself a hardcore gamer. I game a lot and buy a lot of games, and I DEFINITELY appreciate a challenge. The payoff from accomplishing something difficult in a video game is massively rewarding for me.
However...
I'm not exceptionally skilled. To me, normal mode in games can feel like hard mode, and hard mode can seem crushing. Dark Souls is supposed to be a game with crushing difficulty... But to me, the difficulty goes beyond that to not fun or even possible. ...
Spider-Man 2 was probably my favorite PS2 game excluding the classics like R&C, Sly, and Jak and Daxter.
The ratchet and clank movie is coming out on the 29th. That movie is based off of the original ratchet and clank game. This reboot is based on the movie.
Gah, the disagrees. I unfortunately only have a 720p TV, so I'm constantly wishing I had the option to switch down to 720p for a higher framerate.
Something worth noting is they're available day one. That actually matters on a moral standpoint, in my eyes. It means, undeniably, that this is not EXTRA content, it is content that was already developed and cut out of the base game to sell for more money (it was made for that in the first place).
I wonder how they're going to deal with the 5 percent of PS4 owners that already have a camera. Are they going to force them to buy another one bundled with the headset? I don't think it would be a great plan to sell the headset without the camera, plenty of people might good and not realize they need one.
Like young people vs old people with the Internet, I believe playstation gamers simply have a higher chance of using a gaming news website than Xbox gamers.
They made back their investment for the development of the entire franchise with the base game launch. There is no damn need for overpriced DLC, and gameplay OR cosmetic microtransactions. Lack of money isn't why there isn't any content.
Activision is. The profit margin on dance moves are ten times that of legitimate content.
Read the article, it's even worse. 200 million over the first year.
Yeah haha, they may make more in software sales but Microsoft has to be careful with exclusives, they MATTER.
I just hate the entire basis of microtransactions. A small amount of compulsive people that don't want to work for things will spend loads, and everyone else gets annoyed by the gameplay mechanics that try to reel those people in. Look at say H1Z1, where a few addicts with money to spare will pay the developer hundreds, while everyone else (who also bought the game) gets annoyed by other people getting P2W air drops.
They don't belong in retail games in my opinion. Just fre...
Well, copyright reasons and such, but I know what you mean. Just that general type of thing. Pretty sure the PS4 is capable, it just wouldn't be profitable.
I just don't like the selective titles fiasco (which is needed for optimization). I'd prefer a system where all games are playable, and Sony selectively optimizes the games that they see garner the most interest. They could make money by charging a flat rate for the emulator (sounds horrible, but they need ...
Well, I'd say the decline of Destiny mainly stems from lack of content and shady business practices, especially microtransactions. I don't think No Man's Sky will have those issues.
And more importantly, No Man's Sky doesn't require an active playerbase, in terms of gameplay or financials. Destiny needs players to keep its matchmaking populated and for there to be people to raid with. It also tries to keep people addicted so they'll buy the next exp...
If I could pop any game in and play, that would be really cool. I know that that isn't feasible with the thousands of games released on PS2. It probably wouldn't be worth Sony's time though, especially if it didn't make them a profit. They aren't in the financial situation to spend money on features that not many will use. I've still got my PS2 if I've got the urge to replay something, it's just the convenience factor.
Wouldn't it be cool...
For those who have read the article, this to me sounds like the full experience is going to cost twice as much AND have pay to win microtransactions. And in the case of King of the Hill, pay to play certain game modes? Really? That's new.
I'm still interested in the game, but the microtransactions are really putting me off.
I won't be playing that. I prefer to enjoy my games, not stress out over them. Losing loot puts this game off my map, as does any other game with such a model.
Man, crazy dislikes haha. Funny man :)
It can be hard sometimes for my mind to differentiate from stuff being added, and a game releasing without the features it should have, such as at least a simple replay mode and a working online infrastructure lol. You've got to love the support though :)
This. It's got simple positive and negative sides, it's not pure good or evil like some put it out to be. I personally wouldn't pay for a game that's not finished yet (I don't pre order either), but I see how the feedback and money towards the developer can be important. Come to think of it, early access is kind of like pre ordering, except you get to play and provide feedback as you wait for the official release :). It's just not for me, I don't think I could hand...
A point to be made is that there might be people out there that want a rift but don't have a $1000+ PC. There isn't anyone getting excited for PSVR that doesn't have a PS4. You can spew out all the ignorance you want, 600+ extra dollars is a lot for some people.
Ignoring the quote... How exactly is this done? Considering the HDMI port is not up to date enough and there is no way to ACTUALLY PLAY 4K video? It's not like Netflix or any other PS4 streaming app supports it, and there still isn't a real media player... even if there was, not many people would be happy with "4K video capabilities" exclusively through USB. This article is idiotic.
