Other than the GPU, the PS4 pro isn't that much more powerful than the PS4. This is because resolution is handled by the GPU. The cpu is similar, the ram is the same... The PS4 pro is meant to be a more powerful PS4 that boosts graphical fidelity, and through various levels of upscaling will play games at some sort of 4K (or at least sharper and better than 1080p). Since the CPU and Ram are the same, there isn't room for actual game play enhancements, pretty much any game that can run...
HDR isn't just color calibration, it's more actual color data (like how resolution isn't sharpness calibration haha, you've got more pixels and data). 8 bit color van display about 17 million different colors, while 10 bit can support over a billion. HDR TV's also have to do with brightness level changes. It doesn't matter what your contrast is set to, the explosion (example) isn't brighter in the sense that it's more white, but in that it is ACTUALLY brighter...
There was no YouTube app for like a year you know...
No MP3 playback at launch. You STILL can't have any videos/music saved to the console, like you could with the PS 3. There was no 3D Blu ray support at launch. There are a lot of other things too
I don't have a big problem with it, but to this day the PS3 still makes a better media player than the PS4 does. Sony's focus this generation is games.
You're really manipulating the information there.
PS4: 1.84TF
Xbox One: 1.31TF
That's a 41 percent disparity.
Xbox Scorpio: 6TF
PS4 Pro: 4.2TF
That's a 43 percent disparity.
Obviously there are other factors at play, the Scorpio's cpu end will likely be much better than the pros. But what I'm saying is, a 40 percent difference IS NOT that big. On base ps4/Xbox one yes, most games were a little sha...
I'm hoping 249. Since it doesn't have an Ultra HD Blu ray drive (a big selling point for the Xbox one S, considering the only other 4K players you can get are just as expensive and don't do anything else), I'm hoping they keep the price low. I'm hoping that the slim is a budget device for 249 and the Neo is a premium one for 399, but knowing Sony nowadays they'll probably go 299 and 499 :/. They've already got a huge market lead, so there's less incentive for c...
I'm personally expecting 299. But considering the Xbox one S is 299 but also doubles as a 4K Blu ray player and has some other advantages, I'm hoping they shoot for 249. Release a new budget PS4 for cheap, and a premium one for 400-500 dollars (Neo).
Once you have atlas pass V1 every space station has one behind the locked door. I've got 48 exotic slots because of it.
And Sony is top of the line as far as tvs go. You can get a 4K 50 inch for like 600 from, say, Vizio.
If you're struggling for inventory space, once you have an atlas pass v1 to access that side of the space station, I've been finding a suit upgrade in every space station. It starts to get expensive but my suit has 34 slots now.
Simple truth is that if you add together the headset and what runs it together, the Psvr experience is less than half the price. 850 if you buy everything new for PS4+Psvr camera move controller bundle. At least like 1700 for the vive, and the experience won't be optimal with a 900 dollar PC. Yes, the vive is a notably better experience. But the Psvr experience will cost halve the amount, and still be sufficient.
All the DLC (multi-player maps, modes, updates, weapons) is free, there is no season pass.
Very interesting. I'm not sure what to think of it. Traditionally, next gen consoles have been around 8+ times as powerful as there predecessors, no? Xbox is doing something unique here by bringing it out early, and I think it's a good idea market wise. I just hope Sony doesn't follow suit. I like my console generations to last a little.
Except that the Xbox One S is actually more powerful than the Xbox One, but not by massive amounts. Same with the Neo if rumors are to be believed. Plus 4K up scaling. I doubt that the Neo will be anywhere near the Scorpio in power.
The way I see it, the PS4 Neo will be more akin to the S. They'll be competing in the same market. When the Scorpio comes out, it will kind of be the start of a new gen, but I think too early. 3 or 4 times the power isn't really enough for me. I'm hoping that the Neo ships this holiday, and a PS5 in holiday 2018.
I think the problem with bastion is just that it doesn't take much skill to use him. I once went on a 23 elimination streak with him in turret mode while my friend (a mercy) helped. Sure, the enemy team could have countered me faster, they're the ones that didn't really try and just kept running out into death. It just felt kind of cheap.
So basically he isn't overpowered in the traditional sense, he's just ESPECIALLY good against more casual players who...
Yeah, I feel like console players won't be all that much into the changing heroes and shifting your team while playing. A lot will just stick to what they feel like (I'm kind of guilty). That will however change with time, as the playerbase shrinks to a more hardcore base (if you get what I'm saying. There will be a bigger portion of players who are the kind to switch heroes to counter).
Bastion is just noobish is the main thing. He has plenty of counters, but ...
I'm sure other people will purchase it, but I feel like the main draw for it will be the 4K output. It'll basically be a PS4 for people with 4K TVs as I see it. Gamers with 4K TVs which can't play built in 4K Netflix would probably be drawn to a console that supports 4K streaming and blu ray. I think the increased processing power might be a bad move in all honesty.
No apps will likely support in the future I believe. The future of 4K does not include 1.4.
That's precisely what I'm saying, the PS4 Netflix app doesn't support 4K. That's what the new system would likely do :)
Exactly, I said the same in my comment. The main change is the more than twice as powerful GPU to be used for greater resolutions/effects. Gameplay processing wise, they're very similar.
