Many things would've happened aside from the ones mentioned in the article. For instance, All the women, Parents, seniors, and other new gamers wouldn't exist. Can you honestly say that gaming would be more mainstream without the Wii? How about your parents that play the Wii? How would they view gaming had Nintendo not stepped in? Many gamers are quick to dismiss the Wii for its lack of enough "hardcore titles", but consider this: The Wii has changed the world's preception of gaming...
Looks like "bing" still isn't "King".
Your theory holds up nicely. As the old saying goes:
You get what you pay for.
This video does the game more justice. Its direct feed and in HD

no doubt. The holidays have always been a profitable time for the industry.

Superman 64 can rot your brain.
Watching it on youtube alone, can affect your gaming talent in a matter of seconds. Only humor can help combat these symtoms.

Software_Lover, you hit it right on the nose. I was just like you during last gen. I payed absolutely no intention to what was going on in the internet(didn't even know why the Dreamcast vanished off retail until, like 5 years after on G4 0_0). I played games without a care in the world, nor a knowledge of the industry as a whole. Thanks to my grown curiosity of the industry, as well as, my recent addiction to web surfing, I have come to know new terms like "fanboy" "bias"...
I never really saw it as "bad" or "good", but I do hope that the content that appears on my system is, at least, worth the money.

I guess some sites have varying standards.
As far as collisons go, it needs quite a bit of work(some of those high speed collisons would have more deforming in real life.)
In any case, let's hope the game is fun, at least.
I sorted got carried away in my last post with my rant, but in regards to nostalgia:
Its a blessing and a curse. It can cause a franchise to flourish, or even hold it down when its changed to an extent. There must be a sort of balance that exists when weighing nostalgia, bith, for Gamers and developers. Nolstalgia can blind you from an otherwise very good game, and can even cause franchises with too much nolstalgia to never evolve.
Balance is everything.
Seriously, guys, this was a very good read, and does not bash the idea of nostalgia but instead asks what are the rewards and consequences of using nostalgia to drive your game.
I admit that I do get nostalgic quite a bit when it comes to the good ol' days. I grew up in the 16-bit era, an era of much fanboyism, but I was never aware of this because I was a gamer at heart. The same goes for the Playstaion one era, some of the best days of gaming of my youn youth, and even then I wa...
