I think he's a bit misguided. Of course their are many ways to innovate...and it doesn't require a title to be 100% "fresh". If any of you think that you are all for COMPLETE innovation...just take a look at the sales numbers for Mirror's Edge...which is still rooted in classic platform gameplay. In fact, for the most part...we all want some familiarity in our games...FLOW for the PSP is fun...but it's not creating a new genre that Dev's want to explore en masse.
Anyhow, he t...
LittleBigKillzone....you make it sound, in a sideways way...that MS isn't making gains, and is going to sit around while Sony backdoors them with PSP and PS2 sales.
I don't think it'll be so easy - and amongst all this mess, we all seem to forget that this gen isn't some end game for either company. However, MS seems to realize that the here and now is the building blocks of tomorrow. Sony should not be resting on brand recognition and older hardware. (PSP2 seems to be on the hor...
DrWan - I don't recall saying exclusives. I simply said "up to their ears in amazing titles at the moment."
I won't dispute your list though - like I said I'm a GAMER...not a HATER. (ok...that sounded lame even in my head.) LOL
Look, I don't know the specific numbers...but we've all read about 360's attachment rate compared to PS3. And that isn't saying MS has better games or more games that are better, it's just that some unknowable amount of PS3's sol...
she00win99...if i was, would you care? would you hold me tight - make all the hurt go away?
Well..you are entertaining - dumb as a post, but amusing none the less.
Since you are clearly my superior, educate me some more on you supreme douchebaggery! I mean seriously...the first puss-pile that you squeezed into this thread was full of venom and bile. Do you have no need or desire to be a decent indivdual? You're clearly a troll...and that's fine, but keep your pa...
really...she00win99? I'll give you one chance to back out of what you just spouted. Forget that - I realize that with this new fangled tech we call video games...that it's the new shiz, when it comes to media entertainment...but back where I come from, we find REAL girls sexy.
All kidding aside - you realize that video games are based off of wish fufillment right? We all play games because their fun...but also to experience a good narrative and a false sense of accomplishment.

It's a combination of fanbois who decided to stick with Sony, a amazing game called Uncharted - which probably left a hunger for more spelunking.
I also suspect that 360 owners are up to their ears in amazing titles at the moment - PS3 has some great games too, I think 360 has more this season...and it hurts the pocket book! LOL
My next purchase is POP...followed by Ninja Blade Jan 29th, sorry Lara...we'll dance later when your dance card isn't so full (and you c...
what are you guys mad? I watched several videos in the last hr and the graphics are actually really tight...NG level for sure. This kind of game is bit too fast for having Gears 2 level of detail...and you would wnat it anyways, it'd be so blurred out by the speed!
The QTE button presses are definitely not inspired...but watching it in action, it works at keeping the game flowing and giving the player a sense of the cinematic flare. That certainly ain't bad.
I'm a 360 guy - but ...
I think mastiffchild - you miss the point.
SOTC had glitches...Argo controlled a little off, some of the jumping mechanics felt slow to react...but it's a classic example of a 9/10.
It doesn't need to be perfect. But it does need to resonate with the player, creating a need to see the next level or challenge. I've played alot of games...ALOT...and the best ones are the ones that motivate you through the narrative and make you think a bit even when your not playing. ...
I mentioned thsi in an earlier thread yesterday - MS and many insiders are pushing for Digital Distribution. I went too far yesterday thinking that we may see full DD from the publisher. Likely, slugg is right - you'll buy a disc with whatever on it (sorry blu-ray) and the rest will be downloaded...or even more likely, streamed via a server farm. You'll have to be online to play...but most people will be anyways. MS or perhaps the creating company will make it too enticing NOT to play online ...
MS used the DLC as a means to get gamers to buy their version and as a console seller...not sure if it worked like say a Halo 3, but i'm sure a few people bought into it.
DLC should never be more than 4 weeks away from a launch, hell I beat most of my games within 2 weeks of purchase...then it's the multiplayer or amazing experience that'll keep me from trading it.
Back when I had a PS2 - SOTC was one of those games I couldn't bring myself to trade until I sold my PS2.

I have question...do you guys buy your used games from a gamestop/ebgames/blockbuster etc....or a mom & pop store?
You get way more back from any mom & pop video game store than the big stores! In Canada - we always get screwed over concerning LE bonus stuff...at least if you go to EBgames (which is changing to Gamestop...whoopee!) They never know sh^t about what's coming...it's sad really when you know more about a game than the "experts".
Hello PS3 folk, I just wanted to say hey...and try and show you that wish fufillment doesn't create reality. Yes, I'm a 360 owner...but I'm no fanboi. I love playing games...not hatein' on consoles.
That aside, MS is a massive corporation...and the Xbox divsion isn't too small a chunk in that machine. They have goals just like Sony...making money is one of them, but isn't the main meal for now.
They want market share...each generation, if they can take a piece of the mar...
My personal views on this issue of DLC is that it needs to be compelling, not something held from the disc, advertised in detail well in advance of actual luanch day for a given game...and lastly, the price of DLC needs to either be free or no more than $5-6.
In this situation with stronger PS3 sales...you can also see other issues. Yes, this series originated on PS platform and was extremely successful in it's day. Also, the PS3 version seems to be better...dynamic shadows not...
I like my fantasy style games to have suitably fantastical graphics. Super realism detracts from the experience in my opinion. Look at Legendary...it has a realistic approach...and besides the fact that the rest of what makes that game suck...part of the problem is overly realistic creatures.
Now, if you are going that route...the game better look REALLY REAL and play fantastic. I'm a 360 guy...but I know when God of War 3 comes out - I'm going to weep a tear. Of course it migh...
I was hoping for a multiplayer update - allowing another to use his/her actual character rather than a Henchmen. I know Peter Molyneaux said that it wouldn't make sense - because it's YOUR story.
Bull. It'd work fine. Their are other Heroes that you have to rescue...why not let it be at that. The new Hero "escaped" on their own. Blah Blah.
Gets me thinking about the DLC for TOO HUMAN...loved that game...but couldn't keep playing it just for loot. I wan...
Ok, so 800pts is too much for a whole island and a slew of new goodies and new quests, enemies?
I'll assume (with a high degree of accuracy) that the disagrees above are from PS3 fanbois. Please, help me out - surely your purpose in trolling isn't just to be annoying? Tell me why MY OPINION ON WHAT I'D SPEND AND CONSIDER DECENT VALUE FOR MY 800PTS is wrong?
Better yet - don't bother, not like you'd have anything worth considering anyways.
EDIT: th...
Done and done! 800pts...for all that....provided the island is semi-big...enough to get let's say 4-5hrs out of? Then that's a bargain!
...so I've been following this closely (the website opening is amaing!) The idea behind Elika saving the Prince from falls, traps and yes even battles...is to give you the gamer the sense that you are playing a cinematic experience. You never see the heroes in movies die (well...I'm not talking about the Crowe...LOL)...However, this doesn't mean that you won't "suffer" for playing poorly. If you fall you are saved and magically put back at the last check point...this may seem lame, ...
Avatars are not NEW...my god. Second life comes to mind first - but I'm sure their are earlier examples.
Noob controls....one button for many things....well, that's all down to taste. It works...and you've never heard a review complain about it...in fact you are the first person DA_Shredder I've heard this from. Doesn't make it invalid, but I think the system is fine...room for improvement certainly, but it ain't bad.
I'm guessing from your tone and response that...
