Conan.....the early 360/ps3 game. The last boss douche was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooo Cheap! He had 3 tiers of douchiness. The last was a insta-kill, 360, massive spikes out of the ground!
You had to be at the farthest reaches of the fight area to survive....and if the boss health was low or just feeling mean, it'd spam that damn attack until you died! And it only took one hit!
I almost trashed a controller over that one. Never did beat it...
Good point.
I'm not sure how activsion thinks this will work. In a MMO game....only the RPGs make money. Thats because the lootfest with friends tackling quests is a recipe for win.
But a FPS...how are they going to offer amazing content daily or even weekly?
A reward system might help...but I think the genre is the real reason this will fail. FPS subs just is a bad idea.
We'll see. Like I said....I'll play the best non-s...
Curious....do you know how much it costs to make games like GOW3 or Killzone 2?
AAA titles cost $uckloads of cash. Asscreed2 had a 200 man dev team at it's peak! Each one of those guys got a paycheck that fed themselves and their families.
You can argue that some expensive games suck and some don't....but MW2 was and is very good. It does many things right and a few things horribly wrong.
Most of the real issues in MW2 are easy fixes in Black ...
Well...If by regurgitated you mean FPS gameplay....
Seriously, this gen is the gen of FPS. You see all these games with their flare and added tweaks. Halo has forge or Killzone 2 has graphics...how about Borderlands lootfest RPGness?
But they all point and shoot right? Does that mean they are all the same? no.
But I bet if you were a Halo fan and its sequel was Halo 5 - Killstreaks.....You'd be pissed! We want familiarity and innovation....its the...
When did we as gamers (the elite of the elite....as we check gaming news 24/7)...become so jaded?
It seems (myself included) that we want a new engine, new gameplay, new setting, new experience.........but don't change the core gameplay!?!
It's too much to ask a dev/publisher to produce a game sequel and ask for it to innovate and be all sparkly - but same for the core audience in my opinion. I on the other hand despise how EA handles sports titles. ...
Is the camera capture only for where you set up a tripod? Can you turn off the opposing teams (player) camera? Very cool.
Much of the rest is just tweaks and addded stuff. New effects, improved lighting likely.
People seem to forget how much MW2 got right. For one thing Black Ops like MW2 runs @ 60fps! That's no small feat. Secondly, Treyarch are using dedicated servers!!! This is huge! They can monitor (create programmed responses and human tracking I gu...
Have any of you noticed the shooter delays going down?
Crysis 2
Socom 4
Brink
etc - http://www.examiner.com/x-2...
You think it has anything to do with Black Ops? I'm a strange gamer - I came back to CODMW2 after jumping to every shooter in a vane hope to wash Activision from my consoles...
I recall reading about MOH Beta...this beta is from the 2009 build. It's not even using the current texture assets.
I've been playing it off and on since it was available for PS3.
-Cod MW2ish
-death animations and death lag suck. (Dev's said that this has already been corrected. But they are not fixing the Beta as it would require a substantial update. Basically its not worth their time.
-The Beta is really just to create hype (whi...
I think many of you fail to comprehend what've beta is & haven't looked beyond that.
Check out the recent trailer on LIVE.
First thing I noticed was how much better the textures and lighting look in the ingame trailer. The beta isn't using the full assets.
The beta has issues...grenades when thrown have a flame trail. WTF? And their explosions look realistic...but boring.
It's trying to be fast like COD but realistic (as far as a game co...
I think that while your arguments for the publisher & dev's is fairly solid, it's missing a few angles.
One - their are few devs that produce complete products these days. They gimp their baby either on purpose or behest of their publisher. DLC for outfits in ssf4 or a game play mode ala BC2 (200kb means it was already on the disc) hurts my desire to pay full price.
EA's VIP idea is great as long as the support is there.
Which brings me to another issue...
Pros - story is mature and engaging. Father trying to save his daughter from a plague.
- combat is smooth and decent with spells that are unique and combo friendly.
- music is gorgeous and really moves you. Can't say enough about the music!
- the gameplay is varied with shooter mechanics that are fun.
- voice work is good.
Bad -PS2 graphics
- one section of the game has you reading a novel! Li...
BC2 has for me wasn't as fun as MW2.
At first when it was new to me I was enjoying the sh-t out of it! But, while I stuck it out and maxed all classes I acutely felt the limited modes as being, well...limiting.
MW2 always had me unlocking something...blackops better be bring the callsigns back! Lol
Plus, it had sooo many modes that you'd have choices.
Anyhow, personally....next years brink has me very excited. I just prey it's as...
Why do all these shooters (my fav genre...I've played them all) have these maps that only really use a small portion each and every match!!!!
Sure a few have king of the hill that changes locations as the match continues. But, why not load the map and allow a random player choose where the objective(s) will be. From each side of course.
Why not have sub-objectives inside each game...so say, you lose the main objective but capture the 2 minor objectives ...
Looks the same! Man bummer! I was hoping for an xmb overhaul.
Oh come on, I know that! Lol
But, surely Sony can do much much better than it is now?
Heck, copy the sh^t out of the NXE!
I hear that's all the rage these days! ;)
I'm a ps3 guy...I own a 360 and haven't used it in a over a year, but I recently bought splinter cell conviction, and when I started up my box...it was instant shock!
I mean sure, I've seen the dash before...but after so long it really hits you how much better it feels!
My question, why is PS3 so slow and not as polished as MS? Surely they run marketing groups/betas for stuff like this? Everybody I know agrees 360 feels better.
...
I read an article about this game just when the economy tanked late 2009.
These guys were keeping their office closed to investors promising a reveal to them. Don't know if that ever happened.
I'd think that some gaming news site would have had info if it had.
I'm 100% certain that this game is siphoning cash from investors and the UK subsidiary grants for keeping UK jobs.
This game will never see the light of day. The promises these g...
You beat me to it! Exactly what I'm saying too...1st party devs and lots of them with great support from MS is needed to stop the bleeding.
You don't think PS3 sales beating MS worldwide is just a coincidence? MS have the mentality that they can simply get a game or two out there that's awesome and that's enough! LOL
I jumped ship to PS3...I've kept my 360, but I've played 1 game (Mass effect 2 - and it wasn't great in my opionion. It was very go...
A bundle with both pieces (nunchuk), as well as the required PlayStation Eye and a copy of Sports Champions, will be available for $99.99, and another bundle with all of that and a PlayStation 3 system will be released for $399.99.
Now, since many people just pass & play....i see no issue there.
As flippant as this will sound....how many of you actually do significant amount of gaming with someone next to you?
Really, most PS3 owners skew old...
Damn...that was well said!
I've had these discussions ad nausea um, and I thought of a few clever ideas. But the trade back to the publisher for exclusive DLC for the next iteration is genius! Seriously! How many of us hold on a month after release for the promised DLC freebie....only to sell it 2 days later after playing the DLC?
Now imagine if you knew that Black-Ops had a whole Zombie mode...on all maps (wtf is wrong with devs limiting these modes to 4 maps...f...
