The truly sad thing here - is two fold.
1) that somehow this dev got funding for this. I hope that this isn't from shareholders. Yikes!
2) that their WILL be some sales...some parent that sees the cover and thinks it a good birthday gift - or, some actual fool pre-order this somewhere in Guatemala. (no offense to Guatemalans.) :)
Did Southpeak actually make this game? They got TimeGate to make Section 8...which I know most of you don't like or get....but it's act...
already paid off....this will be special.
mark my words!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Like I said - this game isn't a game you can just play for 5 mins and "get it".
The only thing I really think this game needs is decent graphics...they aren't aweful. They are just not good. Sadly this will instantly make people look for that Uncharted 2 or Killzone 2 kind of Wow.
Oh well. Still fun!
It's hilarious that I've been spouting the virtues of this game. But I feel compelled to. It's weird, but this game's multiplayer is very addicting due to serveral things:
-Modules: bonuses that you can modify like speed, shields, armour (yeah they are seperate), lock-on duration, lock-on rejection, etc.
But you only have 10 tokens to spend in these stats - with 4 being maxed out.
-on the fly missions aren't anything new...but in this game they are purchased by the your team...
Don't listen to this sh^t! I have the game - been playing ONLINE since launch and it's quite good. I always find 16 players and a few 32 player games...though those are more rare. (due to xserver - as S8 allows you to use your PC as a server!)
Now, the game has tons of customization that directly effects gameplay.
You have modules that are basicly bonuses. Each module has max of 4 slots - and you can only spend 10 in total. Their are I think 8 Modules to choose from - like,...
I just wanted to put in my useless 2 cents. ;)
I was following his tirade on twitter and youtube as it happened. He had very few valid points. His stance is not against gamers but used game stores. His argument stands on the fact that disc media doesn't depreciate - so basically a used game is the same as a new one. But that really isn't true. Games are only as hot as they are new. Gamers buy the next big thing - UNLESS the game is so feature rich & full of compelling content...
here's the abbreviated version of what is what - yeah, my opinion is the right one! LOL
-used game sales = NOT first new sales
-developers need to make games that make the purchaser not want to trade it
-dev's need to create compelling DLC....for first adopters.
maybe continuous (relatively speaking) DLC exclusivity for first adopters?

I have it paid off/pre-ordered.....and in Canada it's same price everywhere for 360 version. But, Canada sometimes doesn't get the cool DLC pre-order exclusive stuff....Gamestop has their head up their a$$.
I called their Head Office and asked if I DIDN't get it...since it says it isn't US/UK exclusive...can I call you for a code. They said that would be fine - as EB should get the Gamestop stuff in Canada.
(little do they realize that that is rarely the case.)
...
I just read from their official site that their are only 9 "native creatures" + settlers.
My concern is RPG's need variety - which likely will still be there, but I'd have rather read 20....9 seems a bit too little.
I have this fully pre-ordered. I'm in the boat that it WAS on it's way to getting back-seated by COD's and Halo's...I mean, before it looked generic. Though the premise was still unique (to shooters).
Now it's a must buy for me. I agree that some of the human characters could use some meat...but I'm fine with it. I'm really interested in loot-fest games.
Does anybody know if the loot applies to just weapons? Can you create a completely unique looking character? I'd...
I'm curious to see what MS does next. I own both consoles...and while I like both...I LOVE my PS3. But MS has a nasty habit of doing WHATEVER it takes to "Win".
What do you guys think? Can you see MS dropping the new standard sku - which I believe is the Elite only now it's priced as a premium version. But they removed the HD cables....douches!
Anyhow...what if MS decided to slightly raise their share of software sales, while promising publishers/Developer...
Yeah thanks TechWiz......what a DOUCHE!!!! I'll buy it used thx.
Though here's some viable alternatives while you wait for a used copy or simply wanna man up and say NO to MW2 bullsh^t!
-Uncharted 2
-ODST
-Wolfenstein (meh...but still a 7/10 FPS if reviews are to be believed)
-Borderlands (can stress how amazing this game looks to be!)
Those are just the FPS/TPS's that come to mind.
Hey guys, I missed the debacle concerning Activision...I know they raised the price of MW2 but the normal version too? On consoles as well as PC? Also, that Kotick b^tch said in an interview with somebody (sorry I don't recall the source)...that they raised the price because they figured we'd pay for it!!! WTF!!!
Am I missing anything? Or miss informed?
Somehow....and this is weird...I don't recall playing MvC2. I know I've seen it before on the Dreamcast...
It's weird because I play and own every game/system ever created...almost! LOL
So how did such a big title escape my attention???!!!
So needless to say - I got it! And online is surely better than it was in 99' on the Dreamcast! LOL >lookin' at you KOF12
I will tell you all this much - If I have a choice concerning a multiplat game...I will always buy it for my PS3. Unless their is a glaring quality difference - and that hasn't happened for well over a year as far as I can tell. I'm just too shell-shocked by my 360 RROD...I'll only play exclusives on it. And as I said above, use the HDD...at least it's quieter and it's one less thing creating heat! LOL
So, I've had 2 360's, first was about a year after launch. I thought I'd wait and make sure the inevitable kinks got worked out - all launch consoles have issues. If you've been a gamer for last while, you realize being an earlier adopter has it's risks. Don't matter whether it's Sony or MS...even Nintendo isn't perfect out of the gate.

I'll be getting this early...a few days anyways. I think that it'll be worth it. Their seems to be a bit of ?'s though. Like whether I can play full multiplayer as an ODST? against Spartans? Firefight mode allows Spartans to play as well...but can I mix and match?
You have full Forge - but can I create my own Firefight Maps?
The new weapons - can a Spartan weild these?
On and on... LOL
Guess we'll see Sept 22nd! (or a little sooner I hope.) ;)
