Actually, the haters were making it up to be the next big flop. The hate was unprecedented and now that it is getting good reviews, people pretend like it was hyped and underperformed. Pathetic.
Sour grapes! You do not want what you cannot have. Go play Tetris if you do not want graphics. You should have just stuck with NES from 80s; why even bother buying a Wii U? Isnt every next console just prettier graphics over the last one?
And critic scores do not matter when the games do not sell hardware or units. Publishers and developers cannot run their businesses just from critic reviews. They need sales and money.

Come on man. 3DS is a dedicated handheld and even smartphones have better graphics than that. Those are barely PS2 level graphics in 2015. They are not natural. The game really would have benefited from more powerful hardware.

I quit near the time of DLC release too. It was just too expensive for the amount of content it offered. After that I started playing FFXIV and realized what a true MMO actually looks like and plays like. The size of the world is immense and varied, there are numerous dungeons to explore with varying difficulty modes, superbosses to kill, numerous raids, unique gear etc. I realized how much of a pale imitation Destiny was.

NO! We do not need mulitplayer in every game! Mulitplayer is the reason gaming has devolved from an art form to just shooting, killing and blowing everything. You need to look beyond just inflation. Technology was much more expensive back then. Every piece of technology was more expensive in the 90s than it is today. They may not be literally forcing us with a gun to our head but they are forcing us indirectly by providing a half-baked game with barely any content. They are essentially saying that if you want the full game then you gotta pay more. There is not end to this practice and the excuse will always be that nobody is forcing you. The truth is that they ARE forcing us by cutting content that can be on the disc on release.
