Sales may not mean quality but they do mean what people want and people like. And that is all that matters. Besides, how do you define and quantify quality? Do reviews mean quality? Just like in the case of AC Unity? Was that a quality game? Order 1886 did not sell on hype but the hate. Hate compelled people to give the game a chance and majority loved it. Just accept it man; haters lost.
And what if a game is 100 hours long? Or has hundreds of hours of worth of content? How much would you pay for it? Let us say something like Skyrim or Witcher 3? Are you willing to pay more than $60 for a single game as well? Because the logic would apply both ways. If you want a $60 game to be 30 hours then you should pay $120 for a 60 hours game or $240 for a 120 hour game. You know that argument goes against gamers' interests.
My friend, that definiton of "real gamer" would exclude 95% of the gaming market. lol. All of us sell or tradein our consoles or games at some point. At least, the smart ones do so that not all of their hard-earned money goes in to the dumpster. For example, my PS3 was 3 years old, I had played almost all the games and it was on the verge of death with a broken HDMI port. I sold it for $200 and sold the games with it as well since they were not backwards compatible with the PS4 anyw...
I completely agree. Since there are no manufacturing, storage and shipment costs digital games should be cheaper. Unfortunately, that is not possible because it would ruin the business of retailers as everyone starts to buy digital. Furthermore, the retailers may reprise buy refusing to stock products from the relevant company. Making digital games cheaper will create quite an industry wide mess.
The biggest problem with digital games is that if a game turns out to be bad, you cannot get rid of it and recover some of your money. You also cannot sell your old games that you have played to death and put the money in to something else. By the end of the gen, you lose a hell of a lot of money for buying digital games.
The best thing about digital games is that you cannot lose or break it. It is always there for you to download whenever you want to. I like that about digital games....
Yes, we get it! The home console market in Japan has shrunk considerably since the 90s and early 2000s. That happened because the rise of western games (mainly shooters) killed Japanese games industry. People started to find them cliched, stagnant, cartoony and boring as multiplayer shooters took over the industry. Many Japanese developers tried to adapt but failed. As a result, they moved to the handhelds where there was still a market for Japanese games. The audience followed them there and...
In truth there is no "early access." How could you possibly provide "early" access to a game? When a game is ready, it is ready for everyone. It is logically impossible. The only way to do it is to hold back the game from others so that a few can have it early. It is all just an illusion! Stop being stupid!
That demo was not really reassuring as it only consisted of a cluttered battle screen and shooting a gorilla and a hog to death. Moreover, it was almost 8 months ago and in no way indicative of the final game. Where are any recent gameplay videos? The game is just 2 months away from its Japanese release. Where are hands-on gameplay impressions? Boss fight reveals? Dungeon videos? Story and cutscenes snippets? Nobody including journalists has actually played this game yet. Isnt that strange an...
Thanks for taking the time to find all that and posting it. But... those are all just concepts and ideas for the game from a wiki. Can you direct me to a video where I can see all those ideas in action in a combat environment? The only combat video I can find is from the Treehouse from 8 months ago but that is limited to just shooting. The game is less than 2 months away from its release and we havent seen a single dungeon or detailed combat or boss fight.
I have been wondering that too. Why do the videos always show characters just running around? Isnt there anything else to do in the game? They are not showing gameplay and combat in detail. All of the videos are limited to wowing gamers with the world/monster design and size. I want to know if I buy this game how I will play it and what I will be doing except wandering aimlessly in a beautiful world. Furthermore, what about the story? Where are some awesome cutscenes that give a glimpse of th...
And how does someone like you, who has never played the game, knows that it is a bad game? While people who have actually played the game, supposedly do not know what they are talking about? Do you know how stupid and ignorant that sounds? Reviews are becoming more and more unreliable by the day as several games with glowing reviews turn out to be sales flops while several games with scathing reviews turn out to be sales hits. Remember the sales and reviews difference between Forza and Drivec...
Congrats on reaching the milestone in Japan. The PS4 has also settled around 20,000 units per week mark in Japan without any Japanese games or JRPGs which is a very good number. On the other hand the Wii U is around 7,000 per week with several high quality Japanese exclusives available and the Xbox One has fallen under 200. The sales will only go up from here onwards as FF, MGS, Persona and other Japanese games arrive on the PS4.
Please show the game already! Enough with the stupid teasing and hyping! I just wish they use new and improved animations this time. DA: Inquisition mostly has the same animations as last gen Mass Effect and DA games. Women walk with wide open arms like men and the same animation continues to loop every few seconds as characters talk. I noticed that with Josephine most of all. It is really an immersion breaker as the character start to look like mannequins or robots after a while.
Well, it might not be in terms of world design but the characters, towns and graphics look a hell of a lot better. lol. The gameplay also looks dull and boring in Xenoblade with monotonous shooting and slashing for 15 minutes straight until the monster dies. I hope Xenoblade does not consists of just hunting monsters for nails, tooths and hides because that is what it looks like. Monster Hunter in disguise. Anyway, Xenoblade Chronicles X will be a massive bomb like the last one while FF15 wil...
Xenobalde Chronicles gameplay is not exactly revolutionary and fun. It is widely regarded as the weakest aspect of the game. The Xenoblade Chronicles X gameplay that we have seen looks dull. FF15 graphics are miles ahead of Xenoblade. They are a massive improvement from FF13 too. Xenoblade characters are the laughing stock of the gaming world and the New Los Angeles looks like its from a PS2 game. Yes, the world and creature design are fantastic but that is it. What do Nintendo fanboys know a...
Ever heard of cultural difference? Search a little for Japanese male models especially Gackt and you will see that they look like them too. That is what their girls like and what is considered handsome. To an Asian person like me Western characters might look overgrown, ugly, insensitive, indecent and savage. See? A narrow minded person always looks at other cultures that way. Definitions of beauty, masculine and feminine vary across the world. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong. So please b...
Yeah! Close your eyes! Dont look at the high scores! Make up excuses! I do not understand why the hell are you people here if you hate the game so much! GTFO of here!!
Cry MOAR!
Actually, the haters were making it up to be the next big flop. The hate was unprecedented and now that it is getting good reviews, people pretend like it was hyped and underperformed. Pathetic.
What about Bloodborne, FF Type-O, Evolve, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, Resident Evil Revelations 2 and Dying Light? Arent those games that PS4 owners can buy instead of Order 1886 if they wanted to? Nobody is forced to buy an exclusive title especially if it is bad. Just accept it; people gave the game a chance and loved it despite the haters' propaganda. Stop making excuses. Gamers win; haters lose!
