I agree that this remaster and definitive edition trend is going too far now especially in case of multiplatform games. They lost more than $60 million in November in US alone when they sold 1.2 million units at the discounted price. If we consider all the Xbox One sales since the discount, the gift cards, the vouchers and all the free games it would to amount to hundreds of millions of dollars of losses worldwide just for this holiday season!
MS has gone mad. They really do not care about making money at this point. This has turned in to a war of attrition where they do not care about sacrifices and losses and just want to win at all costs. The discounts only show that Microsoft is very desperate. They are dumping the Xbox One and are actually paying the customers to "buy" their console. They are just throwing money at the customers and they are gladly taking it.

Halo MCC did not help much as it managed to reach only number 10 on the charts during the month. None of the Xbox One exclusives managed to impress customers and make a mark so they will not be helping in maintaining momentum. The only reason it sold as much as it did was because Microsoft was practically giving it away almost for free when you add up all the games, discounts, vouchers and gift cards.

You are absolutely right. There is no doubt about it in any sane and rational person's mind. Last gen Xbox 360 lost worldwide to ps3 despite the heavy lead in US and UK. How can anybody even think that Xbox One can lead worldwide when PS4 is already in the lead in those two territories. Last week PS4 sold 68,000 units in Japan while the Xbox One sold a paltry 700. How can they possibly overcome those kinds of leads??
