I do not think anybody has seen or played the final build yet. Even the journalists who were recently flown to the developer's studio played the January build and mentioned it clearly. Where is this final build that the author speaks of? Besides the screenshots need to be at the same time of day to make an accurate comparison. Filler article; nothing more.

A Nintendo fan defending story, narrative and lengthy cutscenes?? That is a surprise. I have inquired Nintendo fans about games with stories on the Wii U since Nintendo games rarely feature a decent story and I have often been told by them that games are meant for playing and if you want a story then go watch a movie or read a book.

I remember haters used to say that Sony will go under in a couple of years before the release of PS4. Dont see those doomsayers anywhere now. lol. Xenoblade Chronicles X is not the same genre as Puzzle and Dragons so there reviews are not comparable. Both of them were rated according to their respective genres and their standards. The difference in score only means that Puzzle and Dragons is a very good puzzle game and X is a good JRPG.

So why check those reviews out in the first place if they are so inaccurate? Are they only reliable when they meet your preconceptions and expectations. Ever considered that the game might not be up to the standards of the reviewer or the hype before the release? Just think for a moment and you might see a bias there.

Screenshots have always looked awesome for this game. The problem is that the actual gameplay videos look nowhere close to those screenshots. The last gameplay video that was shown deflated the hype for a lot of people when it comes to graphics. Muddy textures, bouncy cars, bad foliage and terrible popup were all present.

I just selected some of the screenshots available on the internet. The others do not look much better either. These characters do look like dolls but what do you expect? They are anime characters after all and they have always looked like that. You wont see any skin pores, pimples, wrinkles here. That is outside the realm of anime. They are good because they are neat, smooth, do not have aliasing, accurately represent the 2D art and interact nicely with lighting.
