Vita is looking like Sony's Game Gear.
Too Mention consoles that may be looking at a $4-500 price tag in an economy in the shitter still. This guys warning might look prophetic in the near future.
So the red ink will spill..welcome to next gen.
But didn't EA make star wars games before? If I'm not mistaken the last one they made was a MMO and was on sale a short while before becoming free..lol.
Completely.
Is too disimilar to compare, first off. 4 Million is nothing to scoff at...but 10-20m is even better. Especially lets consider this; Every Nintendo franchise from Mario Kart to Smash Bros benefited greatly and was propelled to the highest sales their respective series have ever enjoyed this past gen..But 3D Mario and 3D Zelda did not. In fact 3D Zelda has seen its worse sales since WW.
You can try and paint WW in a rosy rouge if you want to but facts aren't on your sid...
Mario Kart. But ignorance is the wrong word buddy. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. You are insane to think that a 3D Mario which historically is not a huge system seller will change the fortunes of Wii U, It will take much more than that.
Mario Kart is the game with the most sales potential. Wind Waker lol..How many console Zelda's have their been buddy? 8? So out of 8 games it makes it to number 6..Yeah high sales thresho...
I've had my fill of 3D Mario's. Hell the best one is still Mario 64. 3-D Mario has never been a huge hardware seller, but it is the game Miyamoto likes to make the most. Imagine a 2D Mario with the resources given to it comparable to the 3D Marios. Wii U probably wouldn't be in such dire straits if Nintendo had done this.
But alas another 3D Mario, will he have a water gun this time? I hate to say it but 3D Mario is getting tired. After Galaxy 1, which had neat p...
The Dreamcast and Wii U are not really comparable. The only thing similar is that Sega/Nintendo released their consoles first in the respective gens.
Wii U has more in common with Gamecube right now than Dreamcast. And that's utterly pathetic as far as I'm concerned. It is unprecedented to go from number 1 in the previous gen and then come out the gate with such an underwhelming console (Maybe Sony with the PS2-3 transition). The transition has been bungled completely...
Activision say the 'next gen' versions of CoD haven't been dated yet? and included Wii U in that equation?
Leave it to Kotaku.
So Sure about this. You guys just don't get it. The economy is still in the shitter, We've heard rumblings of prices ranging from $400-500, talks of game prices going up to $70, subscriptions etc. And if they both release at the same time, folks won't be buying both, they'll be choosing one or the other. One console will eat into the other.
Man, it will be a sad day around here if Either console performs like the Vita..Or Wii U ftm.
Looks really good. E3 should be interesting.
The Wii definitely sold because of software. Wii Sports was a phenom of a game. EVERYBODY played that game. They had Wii Sports set up at bars in NYC, and women were playing it. NSMB Sold 25m units, Mario Kart sold 35m units, Wii Sports Resort sold 26m units. Smash Bros sold 11.5m Units, what the heck are you talking about?
Were there lame cash in party games? absolutely. Were there a bunch of shovelware? absolutely. But were there also excellent games making use of motion co...
I am interested in the Next Box, but I will say if true. They've made a serious mistake.
Software is and always will be key. Not just Software, but the RIGHT kind of software. 3DS has only recently appeared on my radar as a potential buy simply because the software shown as of late is compelling. ALttP at the top of the list.
Wii U, should Nintendo make the RIGHT software, maybe redesign the gamepad (much like the DS Lite) make a true account system (not tied to the hardware) to accompany the Virtual Console and you are looking at a very appealing console.
That's a good enough reason to stagger releases. I look at the VC as Nintendo's itunes. All music is available for consumption whether its popular now or yesteryear. More choices for the consumer is never a negative. Even if its the illusion of choice.
The point entirely. I'm not saying all games of today lack good gameplay.
But there is something special and unique about games of the past that while lacking in any graphical prowess by today's standards, continue to trump them in the gameplay field in many cases.
Take away graphical fidelity and many games can't stand on other foundations. The dev of Crysis admitted as much.
Like an account system not tied to the hardware Nintendo, so if my system bricks I don't lose all my $hit. Also stop the trickling of releases. I want these classic games in droves. Its also shameful to have customers repurchase the same game over and over just to allow off screen gamepad play.
Please Nintendo, get your shit together. The games industry is heading towards the crapper.
The Original was just so ambitious and incredible in so many ways. It created a genre. Zelda II switched it up and was awesome in its own right. It also created staples for the franchise, such as magic and combat. ALttP, while toned down in difficulty, expanded the content of the Zelda Mythos, and is a benchmark for the series. Then you have OoT which is heralded by many as the greatest game ever (single player). It remains mine (With Metroid Prime 1 & 3 right there as well)
Does Dyack and co have to resort to crowd funding? If they are confident in their game why aren't they able to receive loans or grants?
The gamers will support the games they want after they release. If your game is appealing it will sell if not...it won't.
