Kotaku has always been lenient on M$, but at the same time, M$ pretty much laid out what Xbone was about, so there aren't many questions left unanswered. People just didn't like what those answers were.

Sony on the other hand hasn't said anything. And the things they've said have been cryptic at the very least. Or not forthcoming at all.

E3 in about 2 weeks away so things should be cleared up soon enough.

Exactly, this is the most ill informed author I've seen on here in a while. Wii U is the most indie friendly platform out right now.

Wii U has its issues for sure, but this damn sure ain't one of em.

Here, little fella. Don't become a cheerleader for any company. You will hopefully learn this when you are an adult (though maybe not considering many of the 'adult' immature posters N4G and its ilk have)

Criticism comes in many forms but the two you should worry about is constructive and destructive. I'm very critical of Nintendo, even if I am a fan of some of their games. Critique can bring about the best in someone(s) potential.

Exactly, not champions of the gamer. Used Games Restrictions, Mandatory Kinect use, Mandatory Vita implementation, sounds very appealing. Who actually wants the Xbox1 any way? Where were you the past week when Box1 was being trashed?

PS4 we know next to nothing about, save for the controller. I won't be the one to tell you I told you so when these consoles fail to really take off. But you'll probably be singing a different tune by then anyway : )

Everyone will be in for quite the surprise. This isn't 2006..This is 2013 in which the global economy is in the dumps, currencies aren't as strong, and jobs are scarcer than before.

What if PS4/Xb1 are priced at say $4-500? Games prices jump to $70?

This just shows exactly how delusional the games industry really is. They are willfully ignorant it seems.

You mention Wii U, which is flip flopping like a fish outta water in the market...

They are probably the best major software dev out there. If Nintendo lets them spread their wings a little more who knows what they can come up with.

I love their ability to update classics like DKC and Metroid, and I'm not opposed to them creating more games in those series' but a new IP from them would be just as if not more appealing to me.

If there is one company I'm most curious about their project, its Retro.

The Wii. Classic Console.

That's good news for the few of those who have the system. But it shows a lack of market confidence in the product.

What you are saying, author, is that the biggest mistake M$ made was being upfront about their consoles direction. And you are instead saying M$ should have taken Sony's approach which you imply means saving the bad news for a later date as to not receive internet backlash.

I think both reveals were lame and the lack of forthcoming from Sony is quite shady. And M$'s direction with many policies are a huge reach, and now they are muddying up the info and spinning like...

The numbers some of you guys are tossing out in regards to what you are willing to pay are surprising to me to say the least.

I understand a hardcore gaming enthusiast is willing to pay the price of admission no matter how high, but it will take a hell of a lot of you guys to make a system costing $4-500 a success.

If its wrong when M$ does it its bad when Sony does it.

Heck people have been ignoring the writing on the wall for quite a while. Sony already has policies in place like the one M$ spoke of at the conference. Example; If you buy a a game like Resistance 3 used, Sony charges a fee of $10 to play the online multiplayer...What kind of shit is this? These practices made it obviouse that M$ and third parties would have a field day with policies like that. Hell Sony might charge fo...

A lot of backpedaling from Sony supporters who were jumping all over M$ for this. And its sad. Because if it is bad one Company X does it it is wrong if Company Y does it.

Fanboyism aside, this shit is complete and utter trash, if you folks bend over, rationalize, or defend these business practices then you deserve the screwing this will entail.

Sony clarified was that used games are not blocked on the system and can be played correct?

That has nothing to do with the issue here. The ability to play used games isn't in dispute, will there be a fee associated with it? Sony has said that was up to the publisher correct? You can see how this gets confusing. However, Sony also already implements online passes right? Which if you buy a used game, you are charged a fee for being able to play online..This is a precursor ...

3D Mario has fallen flat to me. I thought Mario 64 was the best of the 3D Marios, Galaxy was the most creative from a gameplay standpoint, flat from a content standpoint, Sunshine was crap, and Galaxy 2 was a waste of resources.

Mario was at his best with Super Mario Bros. 3

Let me give you guys an example of why 3D Mario has never really resonated with the market like 2D Mario. Look at the new Pacman game from Namco. That is a 3D Pacman game, compare that to...

Say wait until after E3, because as of now so much is so foggy, especially with the Box1..and PS4 ftm. We've never seen the actual console, and we don't know if Sony will take a similar route to M$ in regards to used games fees, Games among other things.

Its only two weeks away so, all this speculation will come to an end soon. After we get some clarity, then gamers can discuss topics like this with facts.

EDIT: Oh disregard, this is a comparision on...

Don't understand wtf they are trying to say.

4704d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

But with greater power also comes with a greater expense. In this economy who is going to be able to afford such consoles? If PS4 is 450-500 hundred dollars do you really think it will fly off shelves?

Also how do we know Sony won't implement many of the same features the has Box1 plagued? If that happens then what?

4704d ago 1 agree8 disagreeView comment

The same actually. I don't think people should be trumpeting PS4 like a savior at this point. Its not out of the realm that Sony will implement similar restrictions on used games, and rumblings of a charged online service like LIVE.

Fanboys be damned. If Nintendo pulled some shit like that I'd not support them aswell. Hell I don't technically support them now as I was not interested in Wii U. However, seeing the path the games industry is trying to go, Nintendo se...
