MS may want that outcome. Remember, MS owns windows, if Sony had to allow 3rd party payment platforms on their console, they would be hit HARD, while MS is basically already basically prepared for that if it happens.

Point being, while I agree it could slingshot back on the consoles, that may be a risk MS is willing (or maybe even happy) to take. That said MS isn't really appearing to be referring to the store debacle anyway, just the engine, so it is just speculation o...

Yea, Apple will most likely lose, the suit against Google, despite appearing the same will absolutely fail, Google allows 3rd party APKs to be installed, so Google is not blocking use on their devices, just in their store, hard argument to win there. In Google's case they effectively say "if you want to be on our store and have the tools and marketing advantages of the store, 30%" if not market and platform your product as you see fit.

Are we really going to pretend companies are not influenced by large contributions or that PR statements like this are purely factual and unmotivated? The Sony fans reactions are always a bit odd.

All I know is, I can be sure if the name in this article was MS instead of Sony, we would not be seeing the same arguments.

One requires multiple people to record VO and one is standard character creation mechanics. Not that hard to understand.

Definitely prefer a well moderated and professionally recorded VO to a shabby thrown together one they had 50 people do. Or a robotic virtual voice.

Can't afford internet but buy a $500 console for a single game. Makes total sense. The outrage over this every time it happens is just nonsensical. Steam requires online connectivity for every game in order to download, yet I hear nothing about devs who do not release physical copies for PC.

It is a childish I wanna complain argument. There are very few products that are 100% accessible to every person on the planet, to whine about a game specifically is just stupid.

I don't care, just like I don't when MS does it, but I will say. It is hilarious to watch everyone on this site suddenly change their minds on everything when sony does it.

MS lists titles as 1080p that are upscaled -bad/untrue
Sony lists titles as 4k that are upscaled - there is no difference, you can barely notice

MS charges for online play - bad
Sony charges for online play - there are costs to providing services and free game...

@outside

Your premise is stupid. Women are almost never shot and killed by police, armed or unarmed. Should we also want equality there? Are police misogynistic against men? Or is is more likepy for a man to commit violent crimes, be a threat or have more police interactions?

According to you, we should see an equal number of women...

They want to defund the police, but somehow that doesn't mean getting rid of police... So they will work for free?

I will say this:
1. George floyd was murdered. Every cop was charged as such. (Great to see)
2. White people are WAY more likely to be shot by police and die, it just is not covered by the m...

Yea, dumbest article title as well as content I have seen in a long time. There is an extremely clear direction for the art and it is executed extremely successfully by any measurable factor. I guess subjectively one might prefer cartoony whimsical landscapes more, but hot sure how adding realism means less art direction....

The arguments saying it looks boring at least make sense, (though I disagree) as the trailer was more a landscape/environment presentation than specif...

This seems fine, I just wish they would release a model with a bigger screen and able to run at docked resolution (at minimum) for handheld mode. 720 on that crappy screen is a bummer.

I mean, I never played the game, but IDK how taking what fans of the game, who play the game have said, vs paid talking points from a gaming media outlet that probably didn't even play/enjoy the game is any better. Weird stance you have there...

@VariantAEC you just literally posted a video saying exactly what I said, what eurogamer said, what techradar said and basically the opposite of rainslacker.

Cerny says:
"Then, we went for a variable frequency strategy, which is to say we run the CPU and GPU in boost mode ... then we increase the frequency of the CPU and GPU until they reach the capabilities of the systems cooling solution."

This specifically says it is in boost mode, t...

Idk where you are getting your info, but eurogamer and techradar both disagree with you about the "boost" operation.

https://www.techradar.com/n...

I was originally speaking hypothetically and even explained I had not researched the claim, but it not only seems you are wrong about the boost, but also that I was 100% right in my claims and you were wrong, like on almost every asp...

I just looked up the specs, the CPU and GPU appear to have boost, and being on the same SOC and both being temperature and workload reliant for the boost. This does not sound like an ideal solution for a console. This would mean possible different performance between consoles, different lifespans between consoles and different performances between even two separate sessions on the same console.

2278d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

You have no clue what you are talking about, but don't take my word for it. Turbo speed generally (or always up until now if this is an exception) refers to increased clock rate when the CPU temperature is within a specific range and workload is above a specific range.

Scaling clock rate on a CPU does defeat the purpose of static hardware though, does it not?

At minimum I hardly see a benefit to a varying clock rate for a console in really any scenario, wouldn't using the highest viable clock rate be the ideal situation? Also, varying CPU clock speeds would mean varying lifespans on said console, on that basis, which seems like an odd choice.

Did they confirm this? I haven't looked but it just seems unreasonable...
