Sony is horrible at keeping Vita alive.
Wow, PS5 already?!
@MrSec84 Every preview I've read for Tearaway Unfolded has been tepid. The gist is that it might look the same, but the game has lost its soul on PS4. It's just another generic 3D collectathon with some wag and swipes, where as on Vita it was a personal experience.
Whenever I say anything disparaging about Sony I tend to get comments implying I'm some Nintendo and Xbox fanboy. Why can't I just be a jaded ex-Sony one?
Kaz will deliver on One Sony by shutting down, spinning off and selling off all the divisions until there is one left. It'll probably be their surprisingly lucrative insurance business.
That's the definition of vaporware. The game doesn't exist and never did.
@mikeslemonade "they didn't make money with [...] PSP."
Who told you that lie? As far as we know, PSP was never sold below manufacturing cost. It moved more than 80 million units globally and more than 400 million units of software. The giga failure known as PS3 may have ate all of the money PSP made, but PSP was certainly a positive.
I'm not sure the Vita ecosystem as a whole is profitable for Sony, but in their latest financials they'...
The idea that Sony would invest R&D in not only a product, but a software ecosystem exclusive to Asia has to be sarcasm. ;)
1. Vita is outclassed by all flagship mobile hardware in 2015 (Before anyone says anything, 3DS isn't 2015 mobile hardware). It's not set to run anything other than the lowest end of PS4 games. More and more software gets ruled out for Vita each year as a result of its depreciating hardware.
The reason developers don't make Vita games is because the money isn't there. The reason it's not there is because Sony is terrible and ditched Vita as fast as they co...
Too bad they didn't have that mindset 10 years ago when PS3 was losing tonnes of money. Instead they let PSP die in the west to focus on that flop.
No. Sony killed Vita, burned the corpse and pissed on its ashes. They have 0 goodwill with consumers and even less with publishers and retailers.
They are. Tokyo Xanadu is part of that series.
If people don't want to play console games on handhelds, how come almost every one of the best selling 3DS games is a spinoff or sequel of a home console franchise?
Vita is "part phone." Its internals are the same family as the iOS device range. It had a 3G model.
Do you even know what PlayStation Mobile is? It was meant to be a PS Vita and Android micro-platform for games. While it has since dropped Android support, it still has remnants of those days. The 1GB cap is from that. Do you want to download 1GB+ on a phone with a data plan? No.
PlayStation Mobile is a ghetto within the PlayStation Network. It's where hobbyists and students release content. That's why it's completely free to develop for. The SDK is free, as is pu...
Third best selling platform isn't exactly a coup when you're moving just 10,000 units.
It was a lie from a crappy site trying to make a name for themselves. The event was for a charity initiative called PlayStation Heroes.
Oh, just in time for the firmware update that is removing features from Vita ...
I think anyone buying a Morpheus on day 1 is a fool with more money than brain power.
Only thing sky high is you if you think Shenmue 3 would make money.
