This has sold more than any XB1 game is likely to ever sell in Japan.
@wodan I don't see how that comment about DQH on Vita deserves an "lol." The game is developed by Koei Tecmo on the Dynasty Warriors engine for PS4 and PS3. They've released many PS4/PS3/PSV games. It's not like Square Enix is against putting stuff out of Vita either. They just announced a new SaGa game exclusive to it this week.
Dragon Quest Heroes is and will move hardware. I never said it hasn't/won't. I'm just saying this strategy has its...
Why are you comparing a year's late port on PS4 to new releases on 3DS and Wii U? Even if GTA was new, Yokai Watch would've sold better. That is currently one of the biggest series in Japan alongside Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest.
It doesn't really work like that. If people don't own a PS4 and want to play Dragon Quest Heroes, why would they not buy the console now (it includes a voucher for the game - it just doesn't go live until release)? If anything, this bundle will only make DQH's launch week have less of an effect on hardware sales.
PS4 sold a lot more than Vita this week. That's all Sony has been wanting it to do. They could have got Square to release Dragon Quest Heroes on Vita too and do a similar bundle like with PS4, but they didn't. In fact, Vita has had 0 proper limited edition bundles in Japan this year despite many games deserving one.
Next week Vita will be down year-over-year, and it'll end 2014 selling less than it did in 2013 despite a better start. 2015 is going to be miserable ...
And thus the murder of Vita by Sony's own hands comes to a close.
I stumbled upon Button Bash a few months ago, so it's great to see Alanah get some attention, though I wish it was for her work and not this!
Isn't it a little early to get Black Friday sales reports?
That hasn't been disclosed yet. All that's been stated is that Sony will email those in the purchase period to notify them of the settlement.

New games for Vita? It must be Christmas!
take out vita and ps3 from the tags
we all know this is just ps4 experience
Don't worry, there won't be another Sony handheld to buy.
No, it's a great console. It's just that it's from a company that treats it like crap.
I guess it's easy to make the Vita business profitable when you spend $0 on it.
Releasing this on PS4 seems like overkill. Visual novels are usually static games with tonnes of reading. They're much better suited for pick up and play handheld gameplay.
i fadc too
"I have a feeling if there's ever going to be a Rogue Galaxy 2 or Legend of Dragoon 2, it'll be on a Playstation system."
Err, that's because Sony owns those series ...
"PS Vita is for rather mature gamers so I think it's a cool ad."
SCEE, the same division of Sony that ran this
"controversial" ad, doesn't think so their regular campaigns: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Ads targeted at kids are the only Vita native (not a PS4 peripheral) commercials they run.
This isn't a Vita ad. It's one for PS4 Remote Play. This does nothing to quell the "bitching" about the lack of support and advertising Sony gives the platform.
Unfortunately this will most likely be when Sony kills Vita. Notice the difference in response between Sony's actions of a poor selling PS4 in Japan vs. their actions with a poor selling Vita in the west. They ignore Vita in the west and let it die, while in Japan they pushed PS4 to the detriment of Vita.
