Wow they used their target PC shots as pretend 'we got this from the forza 3 game' versus the 'let's make the GT5 shots look as bad as possible' version.

I have Forza 3 and let's just say GT5 prologue (which I also have) looks much better than FM3. It is not even close like they try to make us believe in this comparison. Losers!

Like when someone said a HDMI connection is not important only to add it into their updated machine. As it has been said, everyone tells pokies (lies as per my 3 year old, anyway I digress), however MS is the 'pokies' champion!

I'd like to have a few special competition modes where damage is on and a strategy on a multi-track race. However, I'd like the option to turn it off for the majority of races as I love watching the replays of beautiful cars after.

Either way, this is the game of this generation! A MUST BUY!!!

I can't really expect realistic damage until probably PS4 Or PS5 because they would have to take into account the cars basic structure metal, plastic or carbon composition. since some cars have high strength steel in some sections and normal steel in others, of varying thickness and all this affects the cars reaction to an accident. So you would have to have a lot of data, confidential at that, to come up with realistic, in the full sense of the word, damage.

I hope they ...

They've increased X-box live so now they need a way to increase games to something like their other software. If MS ever dominates the console business we would be looking at a game going for $100 - $200. Sadly only Sony seems to be pushing value in the game industry the rest are solely profit driven. I mean, come on, eve the Wii should have been in HD.

As long as they write a good story I'm game! After all, we are either shooting, driving, flying etc in games so the great stories with high production values will set them apart.

So now not only do a lot of game companies skimp on single player supposedly to finance the multiplayer, then they will charge us every year to play the game we bought (to play online) just to play it?

This is why I want more meaty single player modes. The BS about 'oh it's too long' I don't care! I don't play games in one sitting. I enjoy playing a few hours every week so if it could last a few months, that would be terrific value. Or make online free! A...

Most of my free time is for my family. However, I do allocate either a Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon for gaming, depending on whether I have any other obligations, wedding invites, events etc. It works out well as I get about 4-6 hours of gaming weekly. That is unless a new Uncharted is out and my wife won't let me sleep till it's finished so she can see the whole story. oh my aching thumbs! :-)

I always loved NFS as the first NFS came out before GT1 and I've bought every single NFS except Porsche Unleashed and Undercover. I love GT5 because of the realism and crazy attention to detail to the point that I can compare real life cars by using the GT5 re-created ones, which works out much cheaper ;-) I love NFS for the arcadey fun. The cops are back and that's one of the main things I liked about the original NFS and the Hot Pursuit versions as well.

that said, I got a chance to play the SLS GT5 demo and I must admit the sound was much better than any GT before though not really quite there. It was sort of a muted perfection. If I turned the volume high, I could really hear a similar sound to the real life SLS (as per Youtube) but without the exhaust backfire when down shifting. It felt like they purposely made it a bit quieter not to expose the full sound but from what I hear in the car looking forward, in the car looking backward, outsi...

and that turned out to be the best yet. Bumper view will suffice for the 800 cars or so. The other 200 (still quite large) will be amazing to behold in the interior. For all the stuff they've put in the game is an A++ from me. It is extremely, amazing, fabulous value for only $60!!! It feels criminal!

This is mind blowing. I'm getting a headache just thinking about all the stuff GT5 has. Is this really all for $60 or will we have to pay more to unlock some stuff?? Either way, hell of a deal!! WOW!

Is this really worth reporting considering they are playing a demo! Ha ha ha ha!
Useless!

I would say Kratos is the badass of baddasses! If you played GOW 1-3, you would understand that he is NOT to be messed with. The rest on the list are badasses but in a room, I'd bet Kratos would be the last man (Spartan, god etc) standing. The T.V. equal of Kratos would probably be Chuck Norris! :-)) Though without all the brutality. ;-)

@Anomen. I bought the PS3 way back in 2006 just in anticipation of this game. Of course some real gems like Uncharted 1 & 2, MGS4, God of War, etc came along to make that purchase worthwhile. However, at the end of the day GT5 is the game I've been waiting for.

So $60 is such good value it's almost criminal! :-)

I though I was the only one who noticed the long loading times. GT5 prologue has a more user friendly interface. Forza 3 takes forever to load tracks. It has been a pain to do comparative 1/4 mile times because of the time it takes to go out of the menu to select another car then load back in. On top of that it doesn't keep your times for offline comparisons! Arrgh!

Even with the new car packs for Forza, I can't spend a lot of time on it. I'm still waiting for GT5...

has anyone noticed how long it takes to go through menus in Forza 3 if you want to do quarter mile times on the drag strip with different cars. It takes so long. I gave up after trying 7 different cars! I hope GT5 has a drag strip!

they should have made lost planet 1 for the PS3 from day one. Alienating the PS3 crowd (who buy a lot of games) was not a good start. They need to go back to basics.

The wait is driving me up the wall. Especially now we already know it's November 2nd 2010. I keep thinking of maybe driving GT4 then I reconsider after deciding I want to save up my driving energy for GT5. I hope to spend a lot of hours on it. The Top Gear test track alone will take days of my time as I compare lap times of cars that already went on it plus many of those that never went on it. With the accuracy of Gran Turismo, this will give me a good understanding of how well many of t...
