It doesn't give you the true scale and feeling of the game. I just finished playing the GOW collection (I & II) for the PS3. Now that brings you right up to speed and filled me full of appreciation and great excitement for the next installment! The demo doesn't do GOW justice in isolation. One other thing I learnt, is that Kratos is the bad-ass to end all bad-asses! To say he is angry would be an understatement!
Now that I know what the story was about I'm really looking forward to playing GOW III. I was late to the GOW story but not too late as GOW III is right around the corner and I'm fresh from playing through the whole story so far.
One thing I'm quite sure of is that the HD graphics and PS3 power are going to make for some very gruesome scenes in ways the PS2 couldn't make.
Definitely looks better than Halo Reach videos so far! Looks like gears of war meets silent hill in a small lakeside town. It's too dark to compare graphics but looks very good so far. Will judge it after I buy it. Till then UC2 and Killzone 2 are still the best graphics seen on any console to date.
If they mean the eventual release of a Star Trek Holodeck type machine...then maybe yes, we need these baby steps. However, if they are talking the next 10 years then I have one answer, the PS Eye! I'll even through the Wii in based on how many people have played it with all it's motion controls.
Does anyone know how tiring it will get playing God of War III or more appropriately, Gears of War III if you have to move your hands around, dive on the carpet for cover? No one will fi...
I realized that Heavenly sword is similar put with some fantastic acting. Anyone who loves God of War should check out Heavenly Sword.
Guess I won't touch my launch PS3 till this is sorted.
then I bought the GOW collection which is basically GOW1 & GOW2 in HD. Now I'm wondering how I never got around to buying the first games when they came out. I am halfway through GOW2 and pumped for GOW3. I never know the PS2 could make games in this kind of scale so I wonder what is in store for the PS3 version?!!
Though I have also tremendously enjoyed, Uncharted 1 & 2, MGS4, Killzone 2, GT5 Prologue (well maybe not tremendously for this one as it's not the full GT5), etc.
However, when all is said and done, including Gears of War 1, Modern Warfare 1, etc, the one game I can spend literally hundreds of hours on is Gran Turismo. I salivate at the opportunity to test drive cars I will never be able to buy or drive all of them in my lifetime and to drive on tracks that I might never get ...
Microsoft has a few hurdles to make this a success:
1) Price: Will it be free, $50, $100??? So will it cost more than a Wii?
2) Wii: We already all (almost everyone) bought Wiis and to be frank it was a fun experience in the beginning then reality dawned and it's still fun but less so and only when playing with friends at your house. It gets tiring moving your hands about in games like tennis that you end up playing it less than games that don't need you moving abou...
It has a bit of a Gears of War vibe going on. It appears to lean more on action than story. I think I will be buying it!
I bought the God of War collection for the PS3. Might be the best value for money so far. I'm still playing God of War I, 7 hours down the road and I know I still have God of War II on the same disc. It's a good feeling to know the fun won't be ending soon! Mindless fun that is.
The story is interesting enough to keep me going and the guy is as bad-ass as a Spartan guy can be. I played the GOW 3 demo and, thanks to the PS3 muscle, the head ripping was pretty gruesome enough to ...
i just stop buying game magazines that can't even be bothered to attempt to write a good review with proper cons and pros. Additionally, a game that calls one of it's chapters, 'First Climax' and continues to show a stereotypically 'sexy' character in the most..shall I say...'dramatic' poses, is suspect. The fact it received a 10 is surprising and shocking.
I downloaded it last week through the 4-day challenge gift code. I've replayed the Sleaze hotel part about 10 times and I managed to get different reactions from the 'lady'.
It was an enlightening moment to see the way I asked her questions led to different responses and emotions from her. I'll have to be more responsible of my actions when I finally receive the full game as I've heard from some reviews that there are numerous different endings.
Did any of you wat...
However, these are not the best graphics I ever seen. While they look really nice, I've seen better than this with: Heavy Rain demo, MGS4, Uncharted 2 etc all have better looking graphics than what I've seen so far. If any of you have seen the trailer for Heavy Rain that is within the demo, you'll see one really tense scene that is tenser than what I've seen on this trailer so far.
To repeat, I will buy this game but it looks like some people are just blindly calling it the best ...
I was intrigued by this game from long ago but after trying out the demo, I am hooked. It felt fresh to play it and as others have said it's different from the normal mainstream games we have been getting.
The story has me hooked and there is just enough interaction to make it feel more than just hit some buttons and move on. It has some real atmosphere. I now laugh in other games during scenes where you get to talk to other characters. They seem soo rudimentary - Batman A.A. I'...
Just by guessing how many car buffs are out there (Worldwide!) and then imagine how many would want to get a chance to drive their fantasy cars and then imagine how many would rush at the chance to drive them in a 'driving simulator' game that promises the closest authenticity especially visually!
The following for this is HUGE!! and can only fade when the motor car as we know it ends.
Don't need to worry about how it will compare with Heavy Rain in the scoring department. This game has it all covered since its on the 360 exclusively!
KZ2 is a better shooter from the the feeling of tension and realism you get as you fight the battles. Every corridor, corner you pass feels hard fought. Whereas Call of Duty 4 is more run and gun and if you get an endless wave of enemies if you don't move forward.
To be honest it depends what you want. I believe there would be more adults playing KZ2 versus MOD W2 as from experience the younger gamers prefer the faster action and don't savor the slower more tense fighting of Kilz...
Probably will this weekend!
To be honest, no where near as much as playing through GOW I & II. The sum of this game is better than the parts. The demo was okay but nothing special and I can understand someone playing it without having played GOW before and thinking that they aren't really interested in the game.
I had never played any GOW till this year and after playing GOW I & II I was hooked. The scale of the game is insane, and to be honest so is Kratos. I like greek mythology so that was a bonu...
